Here we have an unworn 2020 example of the latest 41mm new release Submariner Date, a watch that is now very difficult to get in Rolex stores.
This has the new Rolex 5 year international warranty until 2025
The bi-metal submariner is a great selling sports watch for Rolex due to its combination of steel and gold througout the watch. Practically it has the new Cerachrom ceramic bezel which is very strong and gives a new look to the watch.
Those familiar with the Submariner will see that Rolex have maintained the general look and feel but have enhanced this new model with a slightly larger case, a new movement with longer power reserve, slimmed down case lugs and a slightly broader bracelet.
The bracelet uses Rolex’s new Glidelock system which enables easy adjustment without the need for any tools e.g Summer holidays when your wrist expands in the heat (only occasionally in Scotland!)

Wonderful video. I have the previous generation 116613LB when it first came out with the ceramic bezel, AR coating underneath the sapphire crystal, solid links, Glide lock clasp and now discontinue Maxi case. Some of the differences that I noticed with this new 126613LB is that it has AR coating on the top of the sapphire crystal where it may be prone to scuffing or scratching. Also unlike the previous model with it having 18 karat gold text implied on the dial the newer model has only white paint text applied on the dial. Also the lug width is basically thin out from the inside going outward to make the bracelet wider from the top. All new model submariners as I also have the new black on black 126610LN also has that.

I decided on the 11613 lb! I loved the new and big changes they made! The flat dial popped more for me in terms of the brightness of the color. I also liked the chunkiness of the lugs and case! It feels so heavy.

Wonderful presentation. I think the new Sub is absolute perfection. The slight increase in size, the slimmer more elegant lugs as well as the wider 21mm bracelet make for a perfect watch.

Quite sophisticated videos now: The background music was terrible enough to be distracting, though. I don’t know what, if anything you played when you had the enlarged photo of a movement previously? This doesn’t sound as good. I like the scenes of Scotland behind, but you are now smaller in the frame, to accommodate this and I preferred it as above when you filled the screen more and didn’t have distracting background music. These are obviously brand new or nearly brand new current models and it’s good to see them. Although the Americans call it a Maxi case: that’s the dial’s name and it’s a ‘Super Case.’

Two-tone preferable for me. Slightly less of a show-off watch and more practical with dual colours.

Personally I prefer the bi-metal 'bluesy' to the solid gold one. Just as well really as there is no way that I'd buy a solid gold 'sports watch' even if I could afford one. I remember seeing these watches on the wrists of the guys in Miami who owned the 'cigarette boats' in the harbour, back in the late 80's, the guys who were in the import / export business of recreational pharmaceutical products for a guy called Pablo Escobar LOL. The interesting thing is that although EVERYONE in that line of work was well able to afford a real one, apparently you had to be above a certain level in the food chain of the organisation before they ALLOWED you to wear a real one! For me, it's a tough choice between the black bi-metal Submariner and the blue.....Green doesn't even get a look in. Think I will eventually go for blue.
