An absolute stunner sir! Love it. I own 3 submariners, and I agree 100%, this latest generation has elevated the fine finish level another notch. As you say, more perfect. No flaws. I think they are on another level. The silky feel of the steel, the way every interaction with the crown is a pleasure. Top shelf stuff.

I got this stellar piece in Jan and I can't stop wearing it. I've got other watches like a no date sub, blue dial Dj and a black bay 58 blue dial however, this is the one i wear the most. This is the only Rolex Watch where people have stopped and questioned me about at work and social events. Stoked with the purchase. I'd love it so much there is a few scratches around the clasp.. I've ignored the scratches as the watch will be enjoyed only if you wear it

@@miamijames only a lady DateJust it’s still early days with this AD but so far so good, I asked for two sports models and they delivered the Bluesy within a few weeks and hopefully the other one will come along shortly

Fully agree. This is my hands down favourite rolex model of all time. It's just perfectly functional and classy at the same time, and understated (not blingy/over-the-top). Perfection from rolex.

It is a really nice dial. I used to have this watch, the pervious one, 116613LB, and ended up not keeping it. For me personally, once it scratches up, because it really does, gets a bit dirty, few smudges, and it loses its luxury feel, it initially had.

I’m 19 years of age currently. Should I buy this watch? This is a watch I’m not buying for investment purposes but as a first Rolex to myself for accomplishing so many things at such an early age. I love the color combo and I am super aware of the fact that two tone rolexes do not go up in value as much as the stainless steel watches so yeah. Plus when you buy a gold Rolex for a big price tag you’re not buying the gold, you’re buying the watch. I’m super informed about these watches but I am not sure if I’m ready for this kind of purchase. Should I pull the trigger or no?

The SUB Bluesy two tone is a very special watch and is already appreciating in price so if you can get your hands on one you are pretty lucky. Already I see this watch in the grey market selling between $25-35K USD. Its really one watch your really need that you can wear both jeans/t-shirt and or with a suit!!! A very iconic special watch. I agree it is the best looking Rolex watch out there!!! The color combo is amazing and the blue dial changes in color in different angles which makes it more special.

Why do I love this piece so much? I’m not a gold guy (especially yellow). Don’t prefer two tones. Mostly conservative style. However, this is a different animal for some reason.

One way to tell the old from the current new Bluey is that the fonts on the dial face on the older model are in yellow/gold while on the new they are white.

@@edgarthejeweler mine is the 41mm Datejust with the white mother of pearl dial and the diamond indices in two-tone yellow gold or alternatively rose gold also looks nice, maybe even better than the yellow gold. That would be a hard decision to make for me.

Great review of a stunning watch ed.I want to upgrade my 87 blue dial datejust which I've owned for 20 years now and have been looking at these for a few months now.Pre owned they are commanding £10k for between 2002 and 2005 in year,with box and papers in UK.Should i buy an older one or newer one for same price?as will older one gain value quicker?Any advice would be great,thanks ed/watch enthusiasts .

If it is a sport watch from Rolex like submariner, I would defenetly wait since gray market is the same or higher price for those models. Also I would recommend for you to keep your old Datejust you might not get the bucks that might be worthed the memory of the watch

Take in consideration. Submariner and majority of the models got some changes in 2020... submariners ar now 41mm at 9100 and gray market is up to 14k. In that case of course the 40mm Submariner will be at retail price from last year 8k would be a fair price for that particular model. Good luck my friend!!

The bezel is not to measure oxygen, its a timer to tell you how long you were under water !!!!

Exactly. That way you don't run out of oxygen. Bezel moves one direction to protect the timer of the oxygen

It measures time. That’s it. Any you don’t use oxygen in scuba tank, as you will die in less than 5 min!! It’s air, which has oxygen in it of course.

Hard to believe people are paying 20k for these now. I bought one of the first 2 tone V serial subc back in 2010 for 9k out the door. sold it in 2014 for 9.5k and thought I did good lol. Should have held on to it.

Only gmts. No subs for security reasons when underwater. That way if the bezel moves you don't run out of oxygen.
