our formal dining area has 2 coats of wallpaper. we have stripped one layer and now have a prime coat of wallpaper. do we need to remove it prior to applying texture? If we do need to remove it, what do we do to prepare the wall for texture?

Can you use externally? I'm building a 12ft x 10ft timber shed with plywood outer boards and if so would you need to tape the board joints?

I tried to do a texture with roller and all purpose mud on non brand-drywall, experienced a problem of drywall’s paper peeling off when rolling the mud over, did a coat of all purpose mud ski thinking this might help in supporting the paper so it does not peel, tried again but same problem, how you guys recommend this with such issues, what I am missing here if any?

I removed popcorn off bathroom ceiling. I did a quik skim coat to cover imperfections. Loose tape, nails ect. I then sanded. I used a roller like your course black one to roll on sheetrock mud( pancake batter thin) to give my bathroom ceiling a texture look. In a few spots it peeled on me. I think it was too humid in the bathroom. Im currently letting it dry. What is your advice on my next step. Repair spots only? Redo entire celing with another coat? I plan on painting it too

I have some badly plastered drywall joints - with high and low points of plaster. Rather than doing a lot of sanding and re-plastering, then sanding again, would this application hide the un-sanded joints?

You need to roll right up to the corner. Then use a 1 inch metal blade to scrape the edge. This will give a nice even edge

He didn't say which roller he used to paint with or lay off but yea, he had 3 rollers and 3 finishes. I think he only used the "low nap" roller to roll the wall, then with a clean "low nap" he LAYED OFF the paint. I think it's a good look, the laying off certainly added a lot of value to the effect.
@SteveSpinella3 жыл бұрын
He showed a 22mm, which is about a 1" nap for US, and also had a medium, probably about a 1/2"--but it was a specialty nap, and a texture roller cover/spaghetti/loop, for different finishes. He demonstrated using the 22mm. In the US, often a 3/4" nap is used. This gives a thicker bodied texture--"high-profile" texture. As he put it at the end, "the process is the same [but the tool is different.]" Note that this is NOT a knock-down texture. Instead he uses the roller itself, still wet, but not adding material, to create an even look by using a light, even stroke. This takes a certain amount of control :-). The look is similar to applying with a mud gun, as the mud is of a sticky, but goopy consistency.

This being somewhat of an instructional video maybe you should give your audience a bit more pinpoint examples. DIY persons aren’t going to know what roller makes what texture as your video end of everything jumbled together
