abarronboy I read that only the 9 banded armadillos carry the disease, and that even then, the risk of transmission to humans is very, very low. Hansen's Disease is also highly curable.

I had no idea armadillos we’re so adorable up until a few years ago. I saw one playing and rolling around in the grass. It even got the zoomies. Just enjoying life ☺️

Little legs, yes. But powerful too. I tried catching a wild one once. I got my hands on it, as it ran between my legs. Dang near flipped me over trying to stop that bulldozer! 😅😅😅

I like how it slowly approaches the toy at first, then launch what seems like a surprise attack, go back and repeats! This is one of the cutest things I've ever seen.

He even comes at it from different directions, just sort of sauntering along busily on his little toes, as if to make his prey think he's got other things on his mind than eating him, and then...POUNCE!

So cute! My granddad had an armadillo that lived under his house in Florida. It used to come out and eat the fruit he would give it from his fruit trees. As kids we couldn’t wait to do the same and we got there during the summer.

The ones in Texas are a different species.... that's the nine-banded one. I uses to have a website about armadillos. I sometimes got questions from zoos and I even had a formula recipe for babies, because I had a great expert at hand. Most questions were from Americans, about an armadillo digging up a garden or living under a porch.

I didn’t realize how many species of animals enjoy their toys our West Highland terrier had a laundry basket of fluffy squeaky toys. Every night he would bring them into the living room and put them under the coffee table and go to sleep.
