The "Can I donate" brings up a fun idea...make the rolls a pool and then let the players decide who gets what.

The DM in my current campaign had us all roll a set of stats, and then we chose one of those sets that we would all use. So we all had the same base stats to build our characters with. It was an interesting change

*Deidre* (d12) 26 HP 13, 11, 11, 9, 11, 8 Rolled a 5 and a 6 for HP, so we know Con is +1 (12/13) after bonuses. *Jordan* (d10) 30 HP 14, 12, 15, 6, 9, 7 Rolled a 2 and a 9 for HP, so we know Con is +3 (16/17) after bonuses. *Anthony* (d8) 32 HP 12, 17, 17, 12, 16, 16 Rolled a 4 and an 8 for HP, so we know Con is +4 (18/19) after bonuses. *Talon* (d10) 32 HP 18, 11, 15, 13, 10, 15 Rolled a 6 and a 7 for HP, so we know Con is +3 (16/17) after bonuses. *Erica* (d8) 20 HP 10, 17, 14, 12, 17, 13 Rolled two 3s for HP, so we know Con is +2 (14/15) after bonuses. •••••••••• *Things we know for sure* • Everyone but Erica guaranteed put at least a +1 into their Con. Erica did not put a +2 into Con. • They're all level 3. • Deidre is a Barbarian because they're the only class with a d12 Hit Die. • If anyone multiclassed, they multiclassed into a class that shares a Hit Die. (Though, I doubt any of them multiclassed.) • Jordan and Talon are one of the following: [ Fighter | _Paladin_ | _Ranger_ | Blood Hunter ] • Anthony and Erica are one of the following: [ -Bard- | -Cleric- | -Druid- | Monk | Rogue | -Warlock- | _Artificer_ ] • Fullcasters being struck through and halfcasters being italicized on account of it being a low-magic campaign (iirc). Not to say they can't be any of them, but just keep it in mind.

I put my guesses on the HP rolling one and I agree. Deirdre is for sure Barb. I think Jordan has to necessarily be a Fighter, unless she's gunning to immediately die to reroll since Blood Hunter requires taking damage for the class to even function. I thought she had a d8 hit die but d10 and Fighter makes sense. Talon is either Fighter or Paladin depending on how they cap off 'low magic'. Anthony I think is more likely to be a sort of Rogue, since his stats make some of the Rogue subclasses that require mental stats viable. I think with her stats Erica is a Monk.

Fun Fact: If this were one of my campaigns, Diedre and Jordan would have to roll again, completely. My minimum is 66 total stat points before race modifiers to keep the stats. Between 66 and 72 a player can ask for a reroll either in entirety or to replace the lowest (very risky, I make you keep what you get should it not violate the below 66 rule). Above 72, you are stuck with it until you have to create a new character, no Aettestup allowed.

Damn, whenever we had a villager roll up like that, they went away to be farmers. I do appreciate the rp side, but better rolls makes for more fun imo

I Always have stupid luck when i roll stats so i often re roll even thow I rolled great to get lower stats for more fun

If you just reroll anytime you get bad stats then what’s the point of rolling at all?

@@dallasbarsotti-paget6616 It's not so much about rolling bad stats, it's about Deidre's stats being considerably worse than the others'. There's nothing worse in a D&D game than feeling useless.

In my group we roll stats by rolling 11 dice taking away the two lowest. Arrange the last 9 3 by 3 in anyway you want. Do that twice. Gives us the excitement of rolling the stats but players retain some agency in how they want their characters to be.

@@jacob5700 there’s plenty of way to contribute and be helpful. Bad stats doesn’t mean bad character, bad player means bad character. Be creative

@@dallasbarsotti-paget6616 Sure there is, but every roll you make in your contributions will on average be worse than any other characters - that sucks. There are no strengths to focus on.
