We're rolling on soybean & corn planting! I wanted to get some early beans in the ground in the week of April 11-14th, but didn't get a chance due to getting corn planted that week. Finally was able to get some beans in the ground after it dried up on April 17th. We had Kent out from Advanced Agrilytics, who's helping on the Agronomy & VR fertilizer, and seed side of stuff! Always get some good tips from him. Thanks for watching!

I always keep a bag of gatorwipes in the cab with me, for my hands and for things like the fuel cap and dipstick if needed. They also are great for wiping off the ends of pioneer fittings as well!! I personally think you may need to look at the seal on the cap, or maybe check to see if the tank is venting ok.

Always enjoy the content Grant-don't get too discouraged over the challenges around planting no-till it is just a different beast. That residue and moisture that is a problem now will be a great benefit if and when the rain shuts off during the growing season. I have done things both ways and each system has its own specific challenges but keep trying and learning! Thats the spirit of the American farmer!

Nice video Grant, glad to see you are coming along very well. As far as the dirt buildup on the fuel neck, you could buy a small cheap hand broom and put a string through the handle to just hang it around the fuel neck, that way it's always there for when you need to fuel. May want to check the o-ring on your fuel cap also.

We have a farm in the UK running about 5 300hp JD 6R260’s and a bunch of other tractors, what we do is we pressure/power wash all the machinery every time they finish a field unless they are going back out so yes we do clean the fuel cap.

You should Invest in Precision Plantings “Delta Force” its ran of an air compressor that you mount on your planter. An air line runs to each row of the planter and you can adjust the down pressure of the row cleaners from the cab as your planting.

Hi Grant You can either use rag to wipe dirt down, if your tractor has pneumatic, you can blow it using blow gun. You could also tie a plastic bag stopping dirt sitting on fuel cap👍

Keep a rag @ your fuel tank & use it to clean off your fuel cap on the tractor or combine. Anytime it rains the rag will get a free wash lol. That's what I do. I slowly take the cap off & tap it on something to get any other dirt off. As others have said, your fuel filters will catch anything else.

I've been farming my hole life instead of lowering your trash wipers give the planter units more down pressure ane drive a little slower you will plant perfectly and your trenches aren't closing because it's a little to wet in beans you don't want your trash wipers digging remember that you have to combine this fall and you will have your header on the ground

But they own about 3000 acres of farm land it’s a big farm has been a farm since 1890s I think. they also have a big map in their office which tells them where there corn/beans went

Super newbie here!! So if the burned acres are going to produce better than the non burned acres, why not burn the fields every fall/winter?? Thank goodness I have an awesome tenant helping me learn. 😊
