Nicky Gumbel teams up with the Global South in rebuking Archbishop Justin Welby
Slowly, carefully, but quite deliberately, a new locus of leadership is emerging within the global Anglican Communion, a locus that significantly is intentionally focused on Christ and biblical authority and not focused on London, England or the Archbishop of Canterbury.
An important meeting of the Primates of the Global South and other leader of the Anglican Community has just wrapped up in Cairo.
Significantly and surprisingly the 13 orthodox Primates were joined at their meeting by Nicky Gumbel, the pioneer of the Alpha Course and London’s Holy Trinity Brompton’s massive UK church planting network.
Nicky Gumbel has been a friend of the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby since high school.

We hear that Arch. Welby is focused on unity. This brings to mind a quote of Bishop J.C. Ryle: “Unity without the gospel is a worthless unity; it is the very unity of hell.” Regarding the blessing same sex marriage he said: “How can we love sin, when we remember that because of our sins Jesus died?”

Bishop Ryle's statement is faithful. There is no unity other than the Truth and Christ Jesus did not die and rise again to life in vain. This is a time for courage, not winsomeness as an end in itself. Surely the end is repentance unto life. I was struck by your observation. God bless.

Thank you Dominic for reporting these encouraging developments to take before the throne of Grace as we continue to pray for the faithful upholding of the Living Word. The slow, steady bit by bit approach means we hear and respond to our Saviour as He leads as Lord. We want to see those who have lost their way restored. Disciplinary steps, biblically mandated, to restore wayward brothers and sisters have been neglected. The Global South and GAFCON together encourages me to pray in faith as there is this opportunity to take God at his Word which He constantly upholds. When the power of His Word is acknowledged and utterly depended on, powerful preaching will ring out from pulpits again and the revival we long for, God may Sovereignly bring.

Faithful 12? I thought some are against as what was being proposed was not using the appropriate process, rather than being against the introduction of the blessings

Do you guys think that the Anglican structure in the church that direct church government stifle the growth of the Anglican Church in Australia

Hi Colin, I think the main thing stifling growth in the Anglican Church of Australia is the failure of revisionist leaders to trust, obey and preach Christ faithfully and clearly, rather than the structures of church government. I hope that helps. - Warmly, Dominic Steele

Thanks Dominic. I forgot about that tendency within the denomination where the Word of God is not being faithfully preached. God honours faithful preaching Amen. Such an urgent and important task. Gotta pray for our leaders big time. Love the content of the interviews Dominic. I meet you once when you came to Wingham Anglican and did a mission with Christians ✝️ in the media. I remember picking your brains on how to preach. I remember you then saying much the same thing. Be truthful to the passage. Let it rule the agenda in your preaching. Thanks again Dominic. PS. When's Colin B dropping in again. He's just Aussie Gold isn't he. I sing and play 🎸 guitar and Colin is just soooooo good. Biblical and great sense of humour. Much like Chappo. Blessings Dominic
