Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! Today, we get to play in the rain, trudge through a flooded farm field, and recover a Dodge Challenger that spun off the interstate, went down an embankment, through a fence, and into a soybean field, all while dealing with lighting, thunder, and quietly lurking, our ARC nemesis...LOL. What a fun job we have!!! Anyway, thankfully the driver and the passenger were uninjured, which is quite surprising giving the ride they took off the interstate. Watch the video and you will even see a police officer wading through the mud!!! Not unusual, actually. Around here, we all try to work together as a team. Each has a job to perform, but sometimes those jobs overlap and we can help each other, and sometimes, joke around with each other to have a little fun. What good is living life if we don't enjoy it??? We strive to be polite, professional, efficient, and safe...and still can have fun. I hope you all enjoy this video!!! Seems as though I still didn't get this video correct.... New computer with a new software program and I was trying to teach myself how to use them both. This is the 4th time I've uploaded this video and only the 1st time that it has processed through KZfaq. Unfortunately, it appears as though I used one of the versions with an incorrect opening title sequence. My apologies. Hopefully, the video is worth looking over the mistake in the beginning. Ron, it is so much better to make the mistake on the computer than on the job! Computers, ya just love 'em and hate 'em! You will get the hang of this computer and software just like you have all of your recovery trucks. It just takes time.

Talk about perfect timing! Flatbed arrives just as 10 pulls the car up to the pavement at 22:10 . Things you never hear a NYC tow driver say "Some farmer's not going to be happy about going through his soy beans". 10 looks like it's ready for a good interior detailing. Stay dry Ron.

I played Ron Pratt a couple nights ago. I had finally got an early night for a change and was in bed by 2200. As soon as weturned out the lights,there was a knock on the door..... my mate and former neighbour had got himself into a spot where he couldn't get his 2wd ute (pick-up) to head to his new home, a 90-minute drive away. Meant I had to get my 4wd out of my driveway (of course, it was blocked in by my CrossTrek.....) and give him a tiny pull out. All the time Im thinking, Ron would be proud.......

Love it when a smart aleck kid says you did a good job and you should ask the boss for a raise! That was funny! Trooper was neat guy and you obviously know each other. You only harvested a few soy beans as you pulled the car out! The interaction between you and Ethan is great! And I bet your dad was watching the whole thing and feeling very proud of his son and grandson! God bless!

Nice work Ron! That field could be a Land-management site for soil or water control or it could be an EPA test field for Co2 measurement. I'm not sure if Bean's can return volunteer wise or not, I'm not that versed with crops.

What a mess. I don't see a lot of challenges except dealing with the rain. Reminds me of a week we had at my uncle's farm the summer of 66 or 67. Much like you when crops are needed to be harvested rain is not excused. We were working on rows of tobacco plants. I think we were gathering the first leaves. It was a warm rain. Our bodies absorbed so much rain that we could get about 3 rows in before mother nature took over.

As a former Challenger owner I can confirm they SUCKKK in the rain. Any water laying on the road and they try to hydroplane. Probably has to do with weight balance being pretty far to the front. I'd put two 80 lb bags of sand in the trunk in the winter. This weather was the stuff I always hated to drive in with that thing.

The newer mopar vehicles have “auto park” which is why it kept going into park. Either have to leave the driver door shut, or use the shift lock release.

Howdy Ron, I have watched a number of your videos and have noticed that you are always concerned about getting down to the last few wraps of cable on the winch drums. What if you were to use some day-glo orange paint on the first 25 feet of cable that goes onto the drum and then use some day-glo yellow on the next 25 feet of cable. This way as you peel cable off you will see the yellow first and know that you have 25 feet before the orange and when you hit the orange it's time to stop. It's just a thought. You all stay safe!

Being someone that owns a Challenger I can say they may be a heavy car but they can hydroplane real quick on wet roads. The high speed low profiles tires (at least that's what's on my 2012) don't channel the water efficiently enough to keep good solid contact with the wet roads. There is an easy solution though, slow down in inclement weather.

Also don't drive that type of vehicle in conditions not suitable for. An ordinary cruiser with appropriate tires works much better.
