missmolly - Well said. Some men (particulary "MGTOWs" as they call themselves - men going their own way) need to believe certain life lies about women and male-female relationships or they would implode. An ego thing, and I don't hold it against them anymore. A man should, at most, compliment a woman's life, not be the focus of it. Life's too short for childish men and there are a lot of other things out there for us to enjoy!
@carlyellison8498

bla - Studies and science? hahaha. There are perspectives and beliefs, and we all know what MGTOWs would have everyone believe. Society is messed up thanks to MALE NATURE: white-knighting men who need our validation. Yes, we took advantage of that and as a result, we are in control now and will be for a very long time. Go MGOTW: stand in a corner and suck your thumb, but such protests won't change reality.

She was a full time homemaker (hubby was pulling in the cash at work). Nice suburban house. She decided to go to work part time to feel "useful". Some guy at work started sweet talking her. I feel like one way to severely curtail hypergamy, at least in regards to women with children, would be for ALL men to avoid single mothers. If leaving the father of her children guaranteed she'd be single the rest of her life, how many fewer women would walk away from otherwise perfectly good marriages or relationships? Guys, don't get involved with single mothers!
@captnhuffy
@captnhuffy 6 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Another VERY, very, VERY good way to curtail hypergamy is Dowries. Every woman should be expected to supply her husband w a HUGE block of resources. In the east this is so common that Men will not marry without a dowry. And, as the first husband gets ALL the cash (or real estate) second marriages are cut down to nearly ZERO because she is bringing far less to the table, AND, she is immediately seen for what she is: **dishonorable** for wasting the first husband's life, and her father's hard earned cash.

@@holdencaulfield8239 I am not sure if his name is real or not, but why would that matter? How is that relevant to what he’s talking about? What he “preaches” makes a whole lot of sense. The problem here is that you do not like him and think he is anti-female. You just don’t really understand what he’s talking about. No where does he suggest any harm to women. His information is helpful to a lot of men, especially when the data suggests (unsurprisingly) that almost all women have kids while most men do not get to create an offspring. Women don’t struggle as much as men to find a partner.

Best dating advice for men in their 50s: **Dont** Best dating advice for men in their 40s: **Dont** Best dating advice for men in their 30s: **Dont** Best dating advice for men in their 20s: **Dont** NEVER date. Just do java meets, clubs, hiking, & sex. Me, I'd rather travel than spend a PENNY on today's so called "ladies" And yes, I've traveled the entire planet, but prefer RV'ing for sometimes a month at a time. 52% of the population are women. They are literally everywhere. Women are so common/ plentiful that their worth is that of a bag of peanuts. If she cooks better than I, is at least as neat & clean as I, and pays her own way, then that woman is worthy for more than just sex. But far too often sex is all they want, and too often that is all they are good for. Pump & Dump is not my idea of a "good time" , so back to the original point: NEVER DATE. Any women responding to this thread are NOT worth a second thought. Don't take what they are saying as truthful, or of having any merit whatsoever. Don't trust them, don't listen, don't consider their point of view, because they are NOT your PROBLEM, and their credibility is highly questionable. As a middle-aged MGTOW who takes care of HIMSELF, I get all the action I desire, with none of the hassle, and almost zero RISK. In short: Today's women are NOT worth risking your well-being over.

Marriage is dangerous for the financially better off party unless you get a prenup. This hypergamy theory is a bit thin, since so many women are high earners and are looking not for money but for companionship. Marriage in later life is generally risky for women as they are likely to end up being someone's nurse. Best thing to do is live separately from any partner.
@Fly_Navy
@Fly_Navy 4 жыл бұрын
@Seekingthemiddle Sorry, prenups are not state statue. Judges throw them out most times. Both parties must agree to use them. There's the problem. My postnuptial and divorced was over turned by the same judge that signed the divorce decree 4 months earlier. The ex contested the decree months later. I spent the next 3 years in court and the appeal court. I lost.

I’m 53 and a bachelor. Never been married. I have no regrets except that I would have liked to have had a kid. But it just wasn’t in the cards. Dating wise I must say I have found my 50s (thus far) to be quite interesting. Sexually speaking I don’t think I will ever get involved with a woman in her 50s and over. I just don’t find them sexually attractive. Actually, the other day I ran into an ex girlfriend I haven’t seen in over 20 years. She was a full of 9 back in the day and had guys throwing dick at her all the time. I don’t want to be cruel. But now? At 53? Let’s put it this way. I didn’t even recognize her when she called my name. I could be friends with a chick over 50 if she’s cool. No problem. But dating? Nope. The women I still seem to attract these days are interestingly enough women in their late 20s to early 30s and of course women in their 50s and up. Women in their 40s don’t seem interested which I can’t figure out as to why? Sometimes women in their early 20s show interest because of the whole silver fox thing but rarely pull the trigger. It’s just an ego thing for them. I’m nowhere near being rich. But I’ve maintained my weight (170lbs at 6’0. 34waist), not ripped, a bit of spare tire that’s a bitch to get rid of over 50, have male pattern baldness though not terrible. If I could give any advice to my aging brothers I would say what’s good for young guys is good for older. Wear clothes that fit, have your own style , don’t try and look “young”, groom regularly and have some game. And don’t get married or have kids. Believe me, you don’t wanna be chasing around rug rats in your mid-50s. You just won’t have the energy that you did in your 20s and 30s.

The topics I yearn to learn more about keep directing me to your site. I find it very helpful to be able to comprehend and communicate to a man, being able to empathize from a male perspective. Thank you for your very frank & enlightening conversations, fella's. However -geesh- listening to you guys makes me so very wary to ever date again! Isn't there any purity & honesty left in the world? Or does dating, especially over the age of 50, dissolve into game playing and tactical moves? 😞 I just find that going about building a relationship/partnership -that one would hope to become deeply tender, trusting, even spiritual- by having to be so "tactical" for lack of a better word, to be so EXHAUSTING and a waste of time --a precious resource. I am just not into game-playing. Maybe I'm a bit too honest & authentic for this world. Naive, even. Maybe what my heart still yearns for isn't going to be as easy as what I had hoped --because there are so many jaded, angry, broken men out there -who can't value what an older woman offers and who want younger women- no less; who aren't able (maybe not even worthy) of a woman who Has taken care of herself, is intelligent & proactive, has a wonderful career & income, doesn't have unhealthy relationships with her children nor a house full of pets. Maybe my time would be better spent alone, investing in building my business, income and educational base rather than to continue hoping to still find & share my life with that one special man..... ~Disillusioned

I was happy being married and now I am not. I tried...tried.. tried to be alone and happy.. it just does not work for me. I haven't dated anyone in those 7 yrs.. because I cannot find someone that wants to date me... I am not a good looking guy.. I know that.. I am also poor... I lost my career of 22 yrs.. and had a hard time of even finding a job...so I took whatever I could get.. which means I'm poor. I don't own a home.. I don't own a nice car.. my car is 20yrs old. I'm 56.. I don't have many years left to date.. that is what is in my mind... I don't want to be alone anymore.

Marcia W - It's nice that you've found what makes you happy in life, but I'm happily divorced and enjoy being happy and free. To think of this as "sad" is just being negative. Each of us have to follow our own path in life.

In the alternative/counter culture scene: music, art, spirituality...Hypergamy seems to be less of an issue than in main stream society...money and climbing the ladder for both sexes is not such an obsession...becoming single again recently in my mid 50's an unexpected calm has come over me...my life is so good [and with very little money] that I feel like I'm really plugging into my true identity...for the first time in my life I feel no pressure to chase after women whatsoever...

I wish you pressed him when he said women in late 20's to early 30's were NECESSITOUS.... In what way? Are we speaking monetarily (student loans, CC debt)? Psychologically needy? BOTH? Necessitous in other ways? .... I'm 49 [50 in Dec].... Divorced 5 years.... 4 kids.... Last think I want I a 28 - 32 year old girlfriend.... Earn 6 figures - but WON'T ever be a sugar daddy.... / 38 - 45 and still in good shape is fine... and most women 38 - 45 have kids in their teens so not much issues with sitter, etc....

True that brother. The 35 - 49 age bracket of woman is pretty good because they still look good (some do). They can be fun play dates and you can enjoy the benefits of a woman's company. They're past the baby rabies stage so they're not as crazy as the younger ones. And, as you say, their kids are older and much less of a hassle. In fact it's good they have kids to focus on so we aren't their 24/7 focus. They love fun and sex but are still focused on their kids. Win for us!

Ive seen a pattern emerge where once Ive bought a nice expensive gift for a girlfriend they tend to either lose respect or end things soon after. Perhaps as they realise it may be a while before getting another gift or even worse they feel like they have to reciprocate and buy me something. Either way i won't be over generous with random women again

James Dixon Don't do that unless you are super close to the girl. If it's just a random girlfriend, it's just a bit cringey and will make her feel embarrassed.

James, you are trying to qualify yourself to the woman, which is hyper beta behavior. Never buy any gift with the exception of a $40.00 birthday or Christmas gift. You must be the trophy, there is no such thing as a trophy wife, MEN are the trophy. I own 2 cars, 2 motorcycles, my own home, and I make 6 figures. I am the prize. You have to look at yourself as the prize, and SHE has to qualify herself to you. Ask her question about herself and have her explain her reasons for doing whatever. Men age like wine, women age like milk.

50"s Dating, right on. Most woman at around my age seem to be broking in one way or another. so when I just found out that there is a calculation value you can use to find out what is the youngish age to your own. it's "your current age divided by two, then add 7 to that number" and there you go. who know, not me...
