No,the term Phantom 1 (one) came about by 2nd hand car dealers in the UK in the late 1920s/early 30s due to the Phantom II nothing to do with the 2003 Phantom .As was the term Silver Cloud I used by 2nd hand dealers who used that term for the Silver Cloud.

Looks somewhat “naked” with-out the full width front bumper bar. Please note this is not “Veteran” but vintage - veteran is to 1918 (vintage 1919-1930). Then classic. Excellent video though of a very nice example 👍

I liked your video but one small correction if I may. If your brakes on a 1927 Rolls Royce are not as good as a modern car (discounting ABS of course) then they're not correctly set up. I have a PII with brakes as good as my 2013 BMW

Thank you Keith! Oooo, four (small) wheel drum brakes on a heavy bodied car is never going to slow down like a modern car unless we consider a modern car to be something produced by Hillman in the 50's!

@@LorbekLuxuryCars mine are nearly 18" diameter that's not small thats ample to slow a car down as well as a modern BMW unless there is something wrong with my modern BMW, and an ash/aluminium body isn't heavy, I've just had my PII re-bodied and I could lift both the ash and aluminium and carry it with ease, I'm afraid I believe you are ill informed. If your servo assisted brakes don't work as well as a modern car then they are not set up properly

@@LorbekLuxuryCars Don't be rude to someone who knows his stuff. I have had a 20/25 and a New Phantom ( 1926 ). Servo brakes will lock the wheels if you really want them to. By the way, the driver always gets into the car from the passenger side to avoid getting the gearstick up his trouser leg. Some cars don't even have door on the driver's side.

Don't talk rubbish! The four wheel servo brakes in that car are up to modern standards. They will lock the wheels. I know, I've got one!

Err no such model as a Phantom one!

Correct, the "Phantom I" was known as the "New Phantom", but it is common for people, to avoid confusion with the 2003 Phantom, to refer to it as the 'Phantom I" - Anorak level 100, very impressive!!

If there is no such model as the Phantom I why did Rolls-Royce name their next large HP model the "Phantom II", and was there an "Old Phantom" preceding the "New Phantom".

This isn’t a 20hp Rolls Royce, it’s a 20/25
@LorbekLuxuryCars

@@jalnamarineservices7859 The car was rebodied later in life, so looks like a newer model. 20/25 didn't go into production until 1929!

Mostly you see the 'presenter' and very little of the car. You can't hear what is being said for the absolutely awful and un-necessary background music that plays throughout. Who on earth would put that dreadful racket on when demonstrating a Rolls Royce ?
