Continuing our look at each generation of cars to bear the Phantom name, this is the fourth generation Phantom as owned by The Aga Khan III; in celebration of the launch of the new Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII. The first car having being specially commissioned by HRH Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh.

The Spanish Government ordered two limousines and one open all weather tourer. As far as I know, they are still in use. They were armoured and very heavy.

They certainly are still in use, at least two of them. The limousine and drop head were used at the swearing in of the King of Spain.

En España hay 4 unidades de las 17 que existen en el mundo , tres pertenecen a patrimonio y la cuarta está en la colección/museo de Don Miguel de la Vía en el País Vasco

El Rolls-Royce que está en la entrada del hotel Dome es un Silver Wraith. Las unidades que hay en España Del Phantom IV, una está en en Bilbao en la colección-Museo de Miguel de la Vía que es de la que habla que tenía un equipamiento especial y es de color dorado, no es la verde que sale en las imágenes, y las otras unidades pertenecen al ejército de tierra y patrimonio. The DE was also responsible for some of the design of the vehicle as he had so significant imput into the car during development.

Keith Newton He certainly was. He arranged alterations that meant that he or the then Princess Elizabeth could drive it, rather than a chauffeur. In 1952 it was made into a State Car, the first Rolls Royce to be designated as such.
