Hey guys ! This is a song I wrote a few months ago. I recorded the rhythm guitars myself, and drums of course. What I find interesting here is that there is some fusion approach regarding the improvisation on the drums. I never play the same drum lines during the clinics/workshops although some parts are more and less written.
I'm mixing some classic extreme metal beats with rhythmic illusions.

Well I am not as fast as Kollias but I can play 16th notes at 240bpm on the bass drum and I think it can be clearly heard without triggers. Watch my "Strange Double Bass Technique Explained"-video to see that. However, I think that a trigger is a great tool for playing on stage because it makes things much easier for the sound guy.

When playing fast tempos on double bass triggers are essential. Kollias will tell you that. When you get it down without using triggers please reply with a video. Thanks. I'd love to see it.

what settings do you use on your trigger module? If i put a setting that reads all my doublebass notes it also reads all my snare notes. If i balance it out, the bass drum notes skp when i play faster tempos. I guess i have to hit harder at faster tempos but them i lose control.

you must be joking first off a drummer in this class of high level skill would never consider auditioning for bon jovi not ever . romain goulon is a drum master in the same class as buddy rich and neal peart or airto moreira i cannot imagine that he would restrain himself in such a manner .

Tico Torres has been John's Drummer since they were playing clubs in Jersey and Romain Goulon was in diapers. I like Bon Jovi, and John is a great guy, but I couldn't imagine Romain Goulon playing bon Jovi songs, he'd be bored to tears.
