The 32nd notes at that tempo alone at the 4:00 mark were simply impressive to say the very least.. Then the winding down to 16th note triplets and finally 16th notes and out was a real nice touch.. Seemed very natural.. Stellar performance..

@@neilmaccanbell9813 Well yes but only because they manufactured on a larger scale before Tama did. So their endorsements were more attractive and they definitely used social media earlier on. Ive always been Tama until they went to China. Im not paying MIJ prices for MIC lol at least Pearl went to Taiwan and still makes kits in the US. But Tama is definitely a renowned prog/metal brand. It just sucks you can only get MIJ drums if you shell out for a Star kit or find a exported MIJ starclassic maple.
@Virvum_Juggernaut Жыл бұрын
Well, TAMA will definitely want their money’s worth from David, exposure wise, after supplying him with that drool worthy 9 piece kit. Mind you, the most costly components in his setup would have to be his plethora of extremely exxy Murat Diril cymbals. Edit : They can set you back in excess of $1000 a piece!

At 1:35 that use of up note ska/Copland like style (on the stack) in concert with his straight forward footwork is by far in my opinion the best show of his chops and ability to make the ordinary, extraordinary.

This is just next level playing! How the hell are these young guys this good and how is it humanly possible to play like this?. Maybe I should have sold my soul to the Satan.🤔
@king-manu27582 жыл бұрын
When I was a kid and I started playing over fifteen years ago, dream theater was the technical goal to achieve for me. Now I look at these guys and the music they play nowadays and it feels like learning a dream theater song is equivalent to learning an ACDC or a kiss song seemed to be back then.
@SmallSoldier2 жыл бұрын
@@king-manu2758 Exactly... it's truly remarkable what the human body can achieve. If we played like this when we were young we would have been famous for sure, now it seems to just be the norm.
@bobbychouffe69882 жыл бұрын
@@SmallSoldier He's famous today because he plays like this :D it's completely uncommon in 2022 to have this level. The thing is, with internet and plateforms like youtube, we have access to the best musicians and we watch them rather than the vast majority of "regular" musicians. We are becoming used to see perfection like this by the few 1% and tend to forget the 99% that are really good but not that good. It's still amazing and incredibly hard to manage to play Dream Theatre in 2022 !! we just forget it because we only watch the bestest :D But it's also true that there is this thing of learning in the tracks of our elders and what was new and difficult for them becomes easier with time because they had time to debunk and decompose the technics and transmit them in a more understandable way to the younger generations. Sorry for this long and not really structured answer... My 2cts.
