Roman Kim is an extraordinary musician. Not only is his technique almost a class for its own, but he composes for his instrument in the style of the old heroes of the violin of the 19th century: Paganini, Wieniawski, Sarasate etc. He is already a great personality of the violin. Dear Roman: thankyou very much for all the pleasure You give us! Please consider me as Your true fan.

Simply remarkable. Given the amount of exposure to “talents” nowadays, I don’t think people quite realize how unearthly this really is. I’m not going to go far as to say that Roman Kim is the reincarnation of Paganini but I’m sure this is how people and fellow violinists felt when they saw Paganini back then. As a violinist myself, I’m just lost at words and also very thrilled that I get to see such godly talent at work in my life time. I really do hope that I get the chance to meet him at some point and listen to him play live like how he does here instead of how he plays all the crossover stuff he seems to enjoy these days(although I enjoy them very much as well)

It's not often that music brings tears of pleasure to the eyes, but this was one occasion. Thank you, Roman. I agree with almost all the previous comments (with one or two sad exceptions!) but it's also worth pointing out that this performance was an ideal showcase for a superb modern violin (2012), showing that violins matching the Cremonese masters are still being made today.

Absolutely love this guy's playing. This is my first time hearing this recording, and his musicality is wonderful. Not just all showy technique. Even when it gets wickedly hard, he still takes liberties with tempi, etc, and the music always comes first.

Roman just does what he wants to. He is his own boss. He is aiming for eternal respect and immortality. You don't need world's top orchestras for that.

The simple reason is that he is not a "soloist." He is a composer and an internet performer. If you don't put yourself out there as a touring soloist, with managers and PR behind the scenes, no orchestra will come chasing you down to perform with them, that's just not how it works.

@@yukiefromoz2573 I don't need to watch TwoSet to understand fallen human nature. Somebody does something better than you and you either become envious or you say "what's the point in trying" and give up (burn violin). But this is not the proper attitude. All talents are given to men by God, to some more, to some less. But each is to use it to his ability, to glorify God though, not to glorify self.
