In the non-edited video, when we were changing to another link, we did discuss it. Loo said it was some note and impressive, and she was blown away while I agreed. Unfortunately, it was in a conversation that could not stay in the video as my family had entered the room, and we had timed out, meaning that section had to be trimmed. We never brought it up again. Sometimes things we say in 'breaks' and get cut, we forget to repeat because it's hard to keep track before the video gets edited. I know it was there because I watched, edited, and trimmed that part out as non-useable content. On another note - pausing the video ....we cannot predict what is coming from a song we have never heard of on a first-time watch. We knew nothing of this song having a triple high note as it was never previously mentioned. We knew nothing of what it means to IU because, in our countries, she is not known to us. We found IU recently and have limited knowledge provided by you guys, and no one mentioned to us before, anything about this song or what to expect. So for that, we apologize if you are disappointed but we are human and unfortunately miss things, and sometimes muck up. That's the beauty of these being real first-time watches and reactions. We will be more aware of where we pause our videos in the future. 😊

Yeah, in the beginning of her career..like 2008 to maybe 2013 ...her company have more control of her music, but it's in 2015 when she really started having more control since it is when she released her first self-produced and written album/songs though she already released songs with her lyrics prior to Chatshire album. Chatshire era is also the first time she released her age series song 'Twenty three' Edit: this song with its 3 level high notes really catapulted her career/popularity nationwide in 2010 and got the name as nation's little sister (esp. With the word 'oppa' in the song i think..) during that time, her fans consist of more males which are mostly older than her (she was 17 that time) which she actually wrote about on her controversial song 'Zeze' on Chatshire album...if you read the lyrics, you will understand why..

I realize you have received so many requests at this point, but just to keep up with her current music I would highly recommend watching her two latest live concert clips from her current world tour for both Love Wins All and Shopper. They are both really amazing - atmosphere, audience, and of course her vocals!!

Before the CHAT-CHIRE album, IU went through a similar process to K-pop idols. Most of the songs were mostly songs that were chosen by agencies that matched IU's tone and image. IU actively participated in her songs from the CHAT-CHIRE album, but the process was not smooth. CHAT-CHIRE's song "Twenty-Three" currently has almost 100 million views and remains one of IU's representative songs and the CHAT-CHIRE album is loved by many fans, But when the CHAT-CHIRE album was released, many anti-fans criticized IU and hunted witches. (If you have time, it would be good to refer to Namuwiki once.) Since she overcame it and grew up, she became an artist who can walk her own path, not an idol tailored to her agency. As a fan of IU, I want you to get to know and enjoy all the songs, but the songs before CHAT-CHIRE may be difficult for you to enjoy.

This is the song that shot her to national stardom in Korea. Her debut song, Lost Child, was a beautiful song that showed off her vocal talents, but the subject matter (a romantic breakup) was not what the kpop audience was interested in hearing from a 15 year old girl. They also created a beautiful but weird MV of that song but after the reaction to the song the withheld releasing that video until 2011 after her success with Good Day and Nagging both reaching #1 in the charts. Good Day became a sensation largely because of her 3 note progression. After Lost Child, her agency rethought their marketing strategies resulting in IU Cutzy phase which Good Day was apart. In this video you'll notice that she buys a box of Marshmallows, which is a song that also brought her a lot of attention. IU took control of her music in 2013 writing the lyrics for all the songs and Producing the album titled Chat-shire. 2011 also is marks the start of IU telling a story over multiple MV's. Starting You & I, being continued 8 years later in 2019 with Above the Time and Blueming and concluding 2 years later with Strawberry Moon.

I really enjoy you both! I needed to say that first .....as it seemed like no one gave you a heads up as to why the big reason the song was/is famous... the 3 high notes. Unfortunately you paused the song part way thru the 3 high notes and missed it (I guess the pausing made it appear as just one note). This song was voted (cant remember by whom) as The Kpop Song of The Decade 2010 - 2020. Should I keep typing here lol... I Love IU.... About 1.5 yrs ago she stated she'd no longer include this song as well as her song "Palette" in her concert playlists. This is my opinion, I feel as she's matured its more difficult for her to reach a stable '3 high notes' and its become a song she might worry about so much that its just not fun for her to sing any more.... I could be wrong of course. Her excluding Palette sort of shocked me, but thats another story lol. Loo, its comforting to find someone that cries more to IU than I do ;)

Hi Lean and Loo, I have followed both of you since your reaction to IU songs. I understood your motivation for your KZfaq reacts and your timeline for such. As such, I know it's overwhelming for both of you when Uaenas like me continue to recommend many IU MVs and videos for you to react. With my limited understanding of your motivation, preferences and time factors, I would suggest the followings for both of you to deep dive into IU discography:- 1) Let's start with Killing Voice with IU. - Here IU sang snippets of her 13 songs that he sang during her 20's, somewhat in chronological order. This way, you will have a good sample into what songs that you want to further react in its entirety. 2) Based on the above, you can choose to react to her best MVs or Live Performance If you prefer songs for MVs that have more depth which you would have better connection with - perhaps you can react to "Eight" (also a collab with Suga) or "Lilac". If you want to see a spunky IU, do react to "Coin" For Live performances, I would prefer you react to her performance that show both her stage and vocal prowess - "My Sea" @Golden Hour concert is a must. "Eight" at the same concert is pretty good. Many actually fond of "Through the Night" + "Dear Name" @MMA 2017 Keep in mind that IU's live performance is always a notch better than her MVs or Recording Studio version. Either way, take your time and don't be too pressured with our fondness to our Queen IU. Do react according to your time & preferences.
