The Capital Region’s Anthony Berghela of Romo's Pizza has won first, second, and third-place awards at national and international pizza competitions such as the International Pizza Expo and was first overall in the Northeast category... Anthony Berghela of Romo's Pizza took first place in the Traditional American Division at the World Pizza Championship in Naples, Italy, in 2023, and was invited to return this June 2024, to be one of four judges of this prestigious international competition of the world's best pizza makers... Recently, I tasted his pizzas and decided to include many of the other 518PIZZERIAS.COM pizzerias that I love around Schenectady, NY... This was excellent! Quite creative and distinctive. I've encountered lots of pizza related videos and it's nice to discover a video with a unique approach to meeting people in the business of producing food and people supportive of the producers.

As a retired executive chef, who has been passionate about gastronomy-the art and science of good food and nutrition-I am excited by the farmers, food artisans, gourmet shop owners, home and interior designers, and of course, chefs, cider & craft beer brewers, spirit manufacturers, vintners, and foodies that I meet each week. Anthony, the owner of Romo's Pizza and Restaurant, in Glenmont, NY, is very humble and it was a pleasure spending time with him-as well as eating his tasty pizza!
