"Every day as a parent is a comedy, you know? It just is!" said actress-director Bryce Dallas Howard, whose own famous parent, actor-director Ron Howard, is just one of the famous dads telling stories about fatherhood in her new documentary, "Dads." Lee Cowan sits down with father and daughter.

Of all the Hollywood prodigies no bad stories were ever told about Ron Howard. His parents raised him well and their granddaughter is a real reflection of that. Such a beautiful spirit.

Wow Bryce Dallas Howard as if she wasn’t beautiful and sweet enough already! Really really nice to hear such nice compliments for all the dads out there. Her words at the end of the clip stating dads are recognized is really refreshing to hear. Many women don’t complement and give appreciation to fathers so to hear that from her is very nice. I’m sure all the fathers who watch the clip will feel the same way.

I saw Ron Howard & his wife at a restaurant in NY. I approached them when they were leaving. They were both so gracious and kind. Very, very nice couple.

I saw Ron Howard and his family at Gladstones in Malibu right near the rocks/ocean..Breakfast time. Bryce had a cast on her arm. They were leaving and I saw his wife, Bryce and a brother or 2..? It was amazing. I couldn't help but stare. Years ago.

I'm glad you aproced them Ron & wife beleave me love it I waited on them many many times at The Hamburger Hamlet where I worked it was in W.Hollywood near the Studios ..There would come alot with Anderson Willams ( potsie ) and his wife ..One time they came in with Tom Sellick That was a kick in the head .and For the Replies that told her to leave them alone ..LEAVE US ALONE

Ron Howard is gifted. He just had it all. Acting chops as a very young child, director brilliance as an adult and to know he is a genuinely decent human who raised his daughter well is very endearing and encouraging.

Congrats on not throwing your kid away Jimmy. You are my hero. I was told that when I was about three or so, that my mom was taking me out of the church sanctuary because I was getting a spanking. I yelled HELP!! so that one of those people would save me from this mean woman. Nobody did.

I will never forget walking on a street in Manhattan and right in front of me was Ron Howard, his wife, holding his childrens hands I could immediately see the connection they had to each other.Beautiful.

God bless to all the dads my dad unfortunately is gone, he passed away in September 28, 2010 from Colon cancer , I get to light a candle for my dad's ashes for father's day ! ✝️💕😪😒 I was daddy little girl I miss him so much!!!! 🇺🇸

My husband was a Wrangler for motion picture for many years . He knew Ron Howard’s Parents . I was Blessed in getting to watch Ron direct and his kids and wife were on set for a birthday . Ron was directing “Far and Away “ in Montana . Beautiful country . Absolutely enjoyed coming on set . We stayed in Billings .

Beautifully stated commentary on your project. It helps to build the want to see this documentary. It’s great to see a mixture of the many fathers in our society and hope that the film contains more. We REALLY got ourselves a like father like daughter parallel when it came to Star Wars The Mandlorian as Ron helped out with the show and Bryce got to direct an episode herself and it might just be one of my favorite episodes of the show so far. Of course while we're on the topic talking about Ron and Bryce, we can't forget good old Clint Howard

Thank you for seeing who dads are. Thanks for recognizing us for being there. I know one thing since I became a dad with 2 girls and no sons. We are out numbered. What you think is the right decision, you are wrong. Dont even think for one moment you are right. Just listen. Just listen to what they need.

Some decisions may be super tough as a dad to girls but you may need to at times. We girls are often too led by emotions and need the stable, grounding security of a dad's decision. I grew up in a home of 5 sisters and a single mom. I know!! 😄 Even girls need tough love sometimes for their own safety or protection and learning but you're so right about needing to LISTEN. Really listen. Listen for their hearts with your whole heart. God BLESS YOU, dad's of daughters!!!

for all of you watching who are blessed to have someone in your life that you call DAD....and that he is a really good DAD...please do not ever take them for granted....for me the entire concept is foreign, I have never had a dad or even anyone in my life to call a dad so I have no idea what that scenario would even be or feel like to me...but I know plenty of wonderful men who are indeed great Dads and yes...I see you as a great dad.

All I hope for, I make a concentrated effort to be a great dad lots of love, laughs, discipline, and knowledge of life. @@DMEseter Ya me too, he was a good man and I was the black sheep kid...but I do realize the job, generation he was raised in and understand in his heart he always wanted what was best for me he just didn't know how to express it he was born in 1927 ..men had to be tough and strong... but he was the jingle bells on the roof christmas eve and when he worked out of state friday night was special always some little goodie to make the reunion even more special....but then the other times...I now see them a a blessing to even just be in their space...and Some of are largest stumbling blocks are our launching pad to greatness... YOU ARE GOING TO DO JUST FINE it's never the big things you do it's those tiny moments when you connect...have a super life being fantastic!!!! cheers! make the memories..GUMPY OLD MEN movie says it best burgess meridith sp? said it best great set of movies....you'll know it when you hear it> Smiling!

Sad, my wife divorced me when I wanted to be a stay at home dad, even tho we individually made enough money for one of us to stay home. She said she lost respect for me as a man. I still love being a father to kids, at the gym. Of course now, those kids are 20 thru 30, but to me they're still my kids (not rug rats but gym rats) from another mother. In Gods eyes, we are all family.

@@Roll587 and @DavidVanHouten , she was a good woman with issues I agree and so am I. I am just blessed that I was with them during the formative years. Although they don't know me anymore, I got them to love learning and be altruistic, so now the older ones are teacher, nurse and artist. So now, my gym kids are that way too. I even got one kid to move back home when he ran away from home. I'm blessed that someone still needs me. Peace

So glad this game out. Parenting is the hardest job in the world. Making them is easy& most of the time fun! Children learn what they see, not what they're told. Ron Howard parents were excellent but how do u raise a well rounded kid today with gun violence, global warming, & social media, what would Ron's dad do now? Will earth still be here, or livable? Hope Howards drive elec cars, silly they most likely do. Go DADS!

love is not in word as much as in deed. kids equate love with the person who spends the most time with them, not just say the words alone. after teaching children for 45 years and listening to them talk, it's obvious!

I never really understood why couples didn't have baby showers together. Thankfully many people do now, and have over the past 10 years. After all a couple is welcoming a baby together.
