Auditing the FEDs is no longer important...it is to terminate FEDs now and take them to court.

It would be nice to have a Constitution Party where the ethos is to stick very close to the tenets of the constitution itself as the senate has been taking a dump on the American people for decades.

Hayek is also a good link. I also heard during an interview also Milton Friedman was in favor of of ending the Fed, e.g. not only the Austrian school. Perhaps some with Cato and Von Muses can hold joint meetings on shared topics. Cato could also invite Thomas Woods to discuss his book. I have not really read Woods attacking Cato, unlike some others. Paul's media appearances has improved a lot. He just needs at times to use pauses more often and eventually get some training to optimize.

I think Friedman wanted to print money at a constant rate, i.e., 3% per year, instead of adjusting it to speed up or slow down the economy (what Bernanke refers to as the countercyclical theory). I think this is why they call him a monetarist libertarian. Mises and Rothbard want to let the market choose its money, so it could be gold or any commoditiy. Rothbard also wrote an essay on how he hates Friedman because Friedman was very socialist in some cases. Rockwell had it on his blog.

Only Paul's second appearance at CATO, hopefully more can follow. Charles Koch, the funder was actually a student of Murray Rothbard, who played an important role with Cato before their fallout. There are some bad blood between Cato and the Von Mises institute, and I think Paul with his kindness and never an attack personally, would be able to bring at least some of Cato and Von Mises together.

The Federal Reserve has already been and continues to be audited. I know this because I was once an auditor of a major Federal Reserve branch. And the auditors have done an excellent job. That's why you have never heard of any significant theft of Federal Reserve funds. The internal controls in the Fed are stronger than any other bank, business, or other organization. In other words, the money in the Fed flows precisely as its controllers intend it to. And the real controllers of the Fed's actions are the major banks. So, the problems with the Fed have nothing to do with auditing or the lack of auditing. The audits of the Fed have been and continue to be solid and effective. Thus, calls for "audits of the Fed" are a red herring. The real issue Ron Paul is speaking of here is the need for an examination of how and where the Fed directs the money flow. That's what has been and continues to be missing.

Ron Paul needs to do what he believes he needs to do. He should do these things to support the message he delivers. Otherwise he is nothing but a mouth. Of course, distancing yourself from the conspiracy nuts would mean distancing himself from his base. To listen to the man, I would say he understands enough to be taken seriously, regardless what you want to call the people who he makes sense to.

Can someone explain this to me. I’m trying to understand the fed and it’s importance. I’m trying to understand it’s effects and how it’s making money off of the American people. If someone could leave me links or point me in the right direction to start that would be great. I trust Ron Paul and this is one issue I’m trying to understand.

has anyone gotten to you yet? basically the federal reserve loans money, at interest, and they make money off of that. its weird to explain but they print money out of thin air, and thats why inflation is such a problem. thats why the dollar drops in value and why they keep having to print more money every year. just know this, this system is designed to fail eventually. Makes you wonder why tf the US Govt allowed to be in trillions of dollars of debt. heres a link : kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gZmcg5ZzzdzSg6M.html
