Cant remember what episode, but Ron stated that Leslie is the person that can get through his defenses. So, i guess literally gave her that plot armor. I think he even gave her "if her name was Tammy" compliment.

@@arielnir2679 As someone that has worked in the government...you're absolutely right. The sad thing is that if you go in as a Leslie (I tried) the system breaks you down into a Donna. You care and you'll do your job, but going above and beyond doesn't give you anything, in fact it gets in your way of wanting to improve anything so now you're just cruising till a better opportunity comes around. Worst case scenario the system turns you into a Jeremy Jam.

One of my favorite moments in the show is when Ron says "Come on in." Why? He is in complete, on the run from Tammy 1, survival mode. Someone just located and tracked down what is surely one of his most secure and reclusive hideouts. But Leslie says that she is running away from her problems. And Leslie is one of Ron's most treasured proximity workplace associates. Despite the shock and horror that Ron must be going through himself, he lets her in without a second thought or a second word. Seeing in her the same fear that he saw in himself when he fled, he gives her safe refuge as a kindred spirit, despite the concerns that her presence must mean to him. It's one of the least talked about moments in their friendship, and I love it dearly.

I like that when Leslie says she may not run for office Ron doesn't say "you will", he says "you should" Ron's a great friend because he puts no obligation on you he knows she can win but his never puts his expectations on others he let's them find their own way while at the same time being supportive. Ron's a good friend
