@@falsettogod5853 I am a nationally recognized Voice Coach. I KNOW this is a “style” of singing. Yelling and singing are two entirely different physical functions Yelling is NOT singing. I think too many people are yelling today and calling it singing. Yelling is not a “style.” It is a trend…it is just people copying other people and calling yelling making music.

I know exactly what you mean! I've always appreciated beautiful melodies over a bunch of hollering. Just because an artist is black or singing soul doesn't mean it automatically requires a bunch of belting and yelling. I love when the soft, gentle, loving side of our culture is represented in music.
@sheiladugan4
@sheiladugan4 Жыл бұрын
@The Hummingbird singing loudly is one thing. Opera singers do that all the time as well and they can be massively loud!! Belting SAFELY is another physical protocol that can be accomplished by skilled singers as well. ATTEMPTING to do either by people who really don't know what they are doing, or actually don't have the strength or resilience already built in the vocal musculature, is vocal suicide, can cause vocal hemorrhage and ruin a career. EVERYTHING that is pop. blues and jazz music today historically comes from the gospel genre of music. None of it requires YELLING. Passion...yes, belief in the lyrics, yes, singing loud, soft, heavy, light...YES!! but true physical YELLING??? never!!

Or Boz Scags "low down" or Bobby cawldwell "Do for love" all old-school white dude's that have love for soul. Look up the full album by the Isley Brothers "Go for your guns" & report back, "Winner takes all" album by the Isley Brothers. I Don't hate Beyonce, I just want people to actually do their homework & find real artists that are so much better, she's mediocre, a shiny package that's all.
