I think if Rooney looked after himself the way Ronaldo does, he’d be scoring for United still today... Would also like to point out that Rooney was fucked about by Alex Ferguson for the most part and played too often out of position on the wing, in centre midfield and even defensive midfield sometimes. Rooney should’ve stayed as a striker and that’s that. I think it really shone out the lack of trust Ferguson had in his players around Rooney.

I remember being at Old Trafford, Wayne got the ball taken off him outside the opposition box. He chased the ball all the way back to thee left back position, right into the corner and won it back. His pass wasn’t great, but he won it back again in the corner. The Stretford end started the Rooney chant, it began to reverberated round the entire ground. Special talent, but it’s his hard working, determination that won the hearts of the fans. There are hundreds of talented players, it’s his mindset and drive that sets him apart from the rest!
