My take on this is, I think the manager Ten Hag's approach is strict discipline like in armies, commanders, scout, where he wants uniformity, discipline & respect, team spirit to club. I highly support this approach in a team May be Ronald needs to humble himself or maybe there's stressful situation between the two, their ego, one more thing to note is he's not bigger than the club. If he has to leave early for some other important reasons, that's always pre-discussed & you won't distract the environment
