You have to check out "Stranger in My House", "Any Day Now" and What a Difference You've Made". There are so many others as well. Another country artist who plays piano is Phil Vassar. And then there's Ray Charles' foray into country music as well as Jerry Lee Lewis.

My girlfriend at the time this song came out, died. She was killed by a drunk driver. Her name was Jill. I was a Marine, she was joy, energy, life to me. I am married, 62, have two kids. They are grown. I still think of her EVERY day. God knows I love my wife today. She is an angel, for sure. However, I will never let Jill go. It was so preventable loss, but life is never what we think. EVERY time I hear this song I lose it. God help me please. To this day I still HURT! It is not rational, but it is fact. The tears come. A song tied to time.

I saw Ronnie in concert in 1981. He is blind and plays the piano. I remember someone led him to the piano bench and he started the show. About midway through the concert he got up and walked close to the edge of the stage (about 1 foot from the edge) He must have heard the crowd gasp as he said “don’t be alarmed those guys (gesturing to the band behind him) will let me know when I get too close to the edge if I asked them how much room I have right now they would tell be I had 6 or 8 feet.

Nice song. The only song I know that Ronnie once sang was "In The Still of the Night" and that is only because my father in law, the singer and writer of that song, was Fred Parris of the Five Satins. Fred just passed away 2 weeks ago at age 85 and this bought back memories of when he sang it at the Grammys in the 80's with my father in law.
