Good work but save your back. Thats a tough job. I worked in power plant in maint as mechanic for 35 of my 45 yrs. Took a toll on my back, had back surgery but still not the same. Now retired and want to do mor on my hse but cant becuz of back. Wish you could do my roof, nobody for miles. 💪👷‍♀️

I can now see how asphalt roofing gets a reputation for "blowing off" a roof. I have NEVER had a tear off peal away that easily. I've never torn a roof off OSB plywood either. Only done a few tear offs during my carpentry days, but they were all hell due to being roofed over pine sheathing. Seems like every nail needed to be painstakingly pried loose. And, after stripping the shingles, we had to go back and pry out nails left behind. They don't build houses (or roofs) like they used to...

And I will have to say I have not seen many people that do it the way we do which I say is the correct way lol but the only thing that I see that you do different than us is when we tell our shingles off we always re nail the sheathing back down. Do you need a job LOL

I still don't understand how a real house has this type of roofing. In the UK we only use this stuff for our garden sheds. As a builder I'd love to use this on my extensions but we have to use heavy concrete tiles and felt and battens. Hard graft getting them up onto a 2 storey house. These shingles just don't seem appropriate for a domestic dwelling.whats the life expectancy for a roof like this?
