Pocket Bravery has been in development for quite some time, but it is now finally properly out and released on PC (and console soon, as time of writing). So now that its finally out, why not take a look at the game and show you everything it has to offer? Not quite a review, but by the end of this video you should know if this game sounds like its up your alley or not!

Hey so lots of people asked, so lets take a look at Pocket Bravery! This Retro-styled 2D Indie Fighting Game has been in development for lets say, a hot minute. However, its now finally 1.0 and fully released out on steam (console soon) with tons of features, Rollback netcode, and a very reasonable price tag for everything you get. So while this isn't a review or anything like that, I think this video will arm you with some knowledge of what the game is all about, and if it will appeal to you!

Im glad this game is gaining recognition. The develpment story behind it is really insipiring and it makes me proud as a fellow brazillian. The devs are really passionate about fighting games and it shows.

@@captainmega6310 Yeah, Trajes Fatais was a previous fighting game that Jon Satella (Statera's founder and producer of Pocket Bravery) was working on as a producer. To summarize things because the drama is too long and part of it is still going: The dircetor is a incompetent dounche that let the project being robbed by the "person of confidence" that he choose to take care of the Crowd Funding money. Jon tried to tell the director (Onofre Paiva, also known as Onocider), that something was wrong and some third party companies weren't being paid yet, but Onofre ignored it because "he was too busy on his art". The game was supposed to release on 2018, but the robbing made a huge impact on the team and Satella left furious and frustrated. Onofre is to this day "making" Trajes Fatais, even though the rest of the team also left the project because he doesn't know how to move on with the steps of the project. He now, instead of making the fucking game, keeps making long 30-60 minutes "making-of" videos about how much of a artist he is, how his creative vision is fucking sick, but never shows anything about the game itself or talks about the project per se. Well, he recently said there was a small team that he made a agreement to work on the project with him, but I still don't know if it is they trying to take Trajes Fatais from him or him trying to suck resources from other people again. There's a brasilian channel called "Segredo dos Games", that is working on a documentary about the development story of Pocket Bravery and Renato (the channel's owner) said he will also mention new details about all the Trajes Fatais controversy that he discovered over his research. I recommend you go there because there will be English subtitles, so you will be able to understand the video pretty well. Sorry for the bible to explain you, but this topic had a lot of info.

Ive not played online yet because im addicted to story mode. The story in this game blew me away. Its been a while since a fighting game had a story that utilizes every character on the roster. No fluff either,they all play critical roles, no one is just trying to find out what tue strength is, or trying to show wrestling to the world, no no this is an ACTUAL story. Kudos to these guys and I wish them all the success.

Would you say its worth it for the Story Mode and Singleplayer alone? Is there maybe also some cool stuff to unlock? Im a very casual player when it comes to fighting games.

@@Link1309 it depends on what you like for content but for me the story alone was so fleshed out and engaging that it was worth it for me and I got the deluxe edition. Other than that theres some survival modes and 2 characters to unlock.

I'm spreading the word far and wide about this game. This is a pure love letter to the FGC, especially the Brazilian FGC, and they deserve all the love they can get for this. On top of that, this studio is very transparent with their updates, and they are passionate about having the community help make this be the best it can be. Huge SNK vibes, which makes sense considering how much of an inspiration SNK is to this game.

You were the most I was exited to talk about the game, because of the quality and very detailed videos you make. For that, I thank you! Thank you very much for showing some love to this work of art! We from the Brazilian scene are very proud of PB for such a indie fighting game with so huge quality and content. For 20 bucks, if you are a fan of the genre, you can not miss it! KoF is very famous in Brazil, so yes, the game is heavily inspired by it, but with its own ideas and identity as well. There was another update today, they were aware of some issues, including the input problems. Maybe it got solved now. I, myself, have not encountered any issues so far.

When you covered Pocket Bravery earlier on the channel, I was a little turned off by the artstyle, but it now looks quite charming! Especially love that they're not afraid to make the game's inputs and combos difficult, would love to play a game inspired by older KOF titles! Def gonna pick it up. Also, can we get a character overview? I'm quite happy that my country gets some representation with Malika :)

Roof... thank u again to cover the game. 2 things about your review to add. 1- They are patching the game 2, 3 times each day. They said in 10 days the game will receive a patch to make the inputs better. 2- They already annouced 2 season passes with 4 fighters in each. The devs are awesome man. I am PB supporter.

As soon as i found this on Steam i instantly was interested. I really dig the Neo Geo Pocket style they went with. Looks really fluid as well. I'll be picking this up sometime in the near future. Props for them doing it w killer sprite art as well, I'm always excited to see new games w pixel art.

As a Brazilian, this is probably the only Brazilian game afther Chroma Squad that i genuinely feel like it's a great one. I really wish Statera Studios become the first big game developer here and they actually have the intention of expanding this universe with not only Fighting Games so that makes me hyped. Maybe we'll finally have our chance to shine in the game industry afther so long.

here we go again, let me thank you one more time to give a bit of your time to make a content about this game, the devs really deserve it!!!! one more thing im not sure you know, but i heard sometime ago this game should have been a normal 2d game, but they decided to do this Super Deformed art style because of bugdet issues, soooooooo....in the future if the game does well enough we may get a sequel with "normal" 2d pixel art characters, so lets buy it people, and give this game a shot =)

Your Overview is just about perfect. It covers the main areas of the game: * Core gameplay of fighting games and conventions * Developing skills at combining attacks and using each characters resources successfully - and improving or mastering progression through the game. It's really helpful showing the basics of the gameplay and then building what's possible bit by bit towards the outrageous but very cool and satisfying combos, which you demonstrated! This kind of Overview would be very helpful for anyone considering purchasing this game and seeing how much depth and value and enjoyment is packed into this game for the price listed. Personal thoughts are the core gameplay with the training modes to help practice and improve and pull-off moves with a range of characters for different play styles (both appearance and gameplay preference) is really tempting offer to sink a lot of hours trying to become "king of fighters" either locally or online. Additionally, there's already been a few pre-release competitions with some awesome matches played, to enjoy seeing how the "pros" handle the different characters!

Worth mentioning this is a pocket version of a future game with KOFXIII style graphis called Bravery. So long as this one makes enough for that.

I grabbed this today after just 1 hour with the demo. The sprites are beautiful, the animation is fluid, and the voice work is genuine. Combos are fun, and each character feels unique. Best of all, it has LOTS of game modes. Folks, if you love fighting games and want to support an indie developer, this is it.

Story Mode has more than 4h of content with MANY GREAT BATTLES and mini games With Arcade Mode, there is more 2h i think AAA's should be ashemed And there is a Rainbow Mode in game, everyone is super OP, like a hack mod

I also am having a lot of problems with the input reader and input overlap. It's a little bizarre how the inputs seem to require high speed, but not much precision. I can do double quartercircles with 2323 and I can do DPs with 636. Supers that require qcb+qcf can be input with 2123, which I get on accident all the time when trying to do 236 AND 623. I feel like I have to restructure the way I do basic fighting game motions to avoid overlap. Or just grind for a long time to make my inputs precise.
