Bylaw and Order is one of my favorite things that LRR has ever done and one of my favorite things is the character work Cameron did with Avenir. He's so precisely characterized and I think it's so good.

I really love these monologues at the beginning of each episode that provides some additional world-building and lore while also reminding the players/audience where the story left off. I feel like that might be something I end up doing the next time I start up a campaign as a way to ease into the session.

In regards to food and the nature of the multiverse, in my home campaign all planes are essentially giant psychically morphic demiplanes born from the real world. This fact has not yet had any impact on the game, it was just necessary for me to explain to myself all the usual D&D bullshittery like how DNA works with fantasy races and reconciling species origins without evolution. The players may never learn this odd bit of lore I basically wrote just for myself.

It's literally "Roll some dice to advance the plot". DnD isn't really optimized for murder mysteries.
