The Roomba E5 is the latest iRobot product with upgrades to two critical areas - the dustbin and brush roll. It now has rubber extractors, resisting tangles better than the older 675 or 690.
The dustbin can hold more dirt - up to 0.5 liters - nearly 50% more than the older 600-series robots. Not only is the container bigger, but it's also washable with the motor out of the way.
These extractors also provide better agitation, resulting in high-end performance in deep cleaning sand as it picked up over 89%.
For me, the Roomba E5 is the best entry-level iRobot option and should be something you consider if you're looking for a budget robot vacuum.

Thanks to your advise i purchased it today. I was able to link it to my home domotica (I use Homey) so it will clean now when i am away for a longer time

Thanks for the review, I just bought the vacuum. I'll probably keep it for a year and then sell it, I'll buy what ever new mapping and uniform vacuum is on the market then

Those rollers scratched my hard floor permanently marring the planks. Excellent for carpet, expensive to replace!

I bought one of these a few days ago. I'm generally pleased with it, particularly the way the new brushes work and much less hair gets tangled around them. Getting it connected to my home internet was a pain and tbh not worth the effort. I'm never going to use the app because scheduling is pointless when I have to pre-clear the room anyway, so for me it's a useless feature - your mileage may vary. Unfortunately, I still had to defeat the cliff sensors so that it would work on my striped carpet. This has been issue with Roomba (and I think most robots) for years and I think it's time it was properly addressed by the manufacturer, or at least prominently highlighted on the website so you know before you buy it. So, mostly good and a little bad, so my early impressions are highly favourable. Glad I bought it.

Thanks for the video. In my house we have one, it tends to turn left when moving forward without obstacles. Don't know if it is normal?

It shouldn't. Check the wheels if it needs cleaning.

Good review but it's NOT HEPA, just a high efficiency filter. I picked mine up on sale at Sam's club.

I love my Roomba but I wish it made more of a better pattern. Like going up and down the room instead of sporadic (moves from the living room for 10 seconds back to the kitchen for 2-3 minutes). It works well in our household. It’s only been wedged a couple times. It could just be a strange observation but it seems to clean smarter over time

Unfortunately, it is what it is, the closest budget Roomba with smart navigation is the I3 with the optical sensor and gyroscopes.

I feel the same. It seems so simple but not one of the vacuums I've owned or seen do laps and I wish it would even if just at the end. It is a pretty basic function that would not be difficult to code. I wonder if there is some logistical reason they don't because if not it seems like a huge oversight.

I like it I have three dogs A spaniel Pom and Italian greyhound I supervise the Roomba but it’s a good vac overall

For $300 you might as well just spend a little more and get an i3 with navigation. Random navigation robots are not even worth using anymore. That's REALLY old technology.

You should remove them. It will wrap on any of the brushes

Nope, it has a cliff sensor so it won't fall off cliff points.

Just got this and hasn't been a fan of it. The roomba doesn't really do a good job mapping my house and my carpet looks like Eddie van Halens guitar

I like Roborock E5 better - more efficient navigation :) but the E5 will be better on carpet

E5 is a piece of garbage like most Roombas. Mine gets error after error. Battery won't charge right half the time and now it just says move to a new area which does nothing. Never damaged or found liquids. Not even a year old.

except for the brushdeck, the 500 series were better. If the e5 is pushed from the charger, it does not climb up onto it automatically. The 500 series climbed upon it automatically when you pushed it of the charger. Now i have often an empty e5 when i want to let it vacuum. And wtf do i need an app for this thing? Don't need an app for cleaning my house. Fortunaltely it works without it.

I think if u pressed the home button before it docked it would go back to the dock automatically idk

@@nutella8318 Yes Tilly, you are right, but you could push the old ones of the charger and it automatically was riding back to it. This one doesn;t. So when your cat or dog pushes it from the charger, it stays off the charger. You have to manually send it back to it, yes indeed, with the home button.
