I had never heard of them until they contacted me. Honestly I had given up on inexpensive wire feed welders being able to weld hot enough for my needs.

Some things I get from Amazon are double boxed, and some are just shipped in the product box. Since it came UPS, I'm glad it was double boxed. My UPS packages tend to look like they were used in the World Cup before being delivered.

I'm not sure what button you are referring to. 10:48 is where I go over the buttons. The lower button sets the mode (MIG, TIG, Stick) and the upper button sets the wire thickness for MIG. The knob controls the wire speed. I've used it a bunch since making this video and am still highly impressed with it. Look in my description because Arccaptain gave me a code that lets you save an additional 5%.

It automatically adjust the voltage (current) to match the wire speed. This is from their website. Synergic Welding Machine: The recommended current and wire feeding speed will be automatically matched ( 0.8/0.9/1.0 flux core wire).

This machine even has hot start

No, I don't remember seeing a second roller and I just checked their website and they don't mention a second one being included. It comes with a roller for .030 as well as a spool of .030

It looks like the roller that is installed in your video is double sided, potentially for different sizes? I know other manufacturers have a single roller for .030 on one side and .035 on the other. I'm just confused as to why they wouldn't include a .040 roller if that's what it's advertised to be compatible with. I also don't see a .040 roller available on their website either.

@@DONdayce It is double sided. Possibly the other side is for the .040. I'll look in the manual to see what they say

I think any of the Harbor Freight, Miller, etc. will most likely fit. I put a Harbor Freight tip on after welding on a Mustang. That's a video that will be coming out shortly.

Honestly, I wouldn't say this works just well enough. I'll have another video coming out this week showing more about this and what it can do. As far as service and/or warranty, I've only been dealing with the marketing director of Arccaptain so I can't speak to that. But it does use the same tips as the Harbor Freight welder, and many other flux core MIG welders so consumables are easy to get anywhere. I've been using this quite a bit lately in my garage and I haven't needed to turn it up past 85, which is something I can't say for other "cheap" welders. Normally they are cranked up all the way or pretty dang close to it just for some 1/8", and 1/4" is where they lose it. I am creating a welding cart using 1" square tubing 1/4" thick and actually had to turn it down to 65 towards the end because it was burning through on the final joints as the metal was getting hot. For a sub-$200 welder, that's pretty freaking impressive and it's not showing any signs of getting weaker with continued use. I'm not one that concerns myself with duty cycle either. I have a task to do and I do it. This thing has never once hit it's duty cycle.
