REGARDING THE SCRAMBLED AND ENCRYPTED FILE NAMES: Okay here is the solution that worked for me for my OnePlus 6. I had all those encrypted file names in /sdcard/ folder, and no amount of re-formatting or factory resetting helped. I was using the WRONG/NON-COMPATIBLE version of TWRP. The first link in the video only gives the LATEST version, and didn't work for me. FYI the issue is: When you reboot into the phone OS to turn on developer mode etc, it encrypts all files and folders, and some TWRP versions cannot decrypt. You will know you have the correct version of TWRP when booting into the TWRP image and it requests your PIN passcode you created when setting up the phone the most recent time. So try using the same ones as in vid first: DOWNLOAD the CORRECT version used in the video, NOT the one he has linked in the description, because the version he uses is TWRP-3.6.0_11-OP6xT and the new version at the time of this comment is TWRP-3.6.2_11-OP6xT, and they don't keep archives on that page he linked Instead, get the ones used IN THE VID from here: forum.xda-developers.com/t/solved-its-impossible-to-install-lineageos-on-my-6t.4389661/post-86278615 ***That is the files both uploaded by a senior member on the forum. This (kind of) worked for me and asked for a PIN which decrypted the phone for TWRP to work with, and I could see the proper files and folders...... BUT then when I was trying to install the TWRP-3.6.0_11-OP6xT.zip on the next step (after putting the TWRP-3.6.0_11-OP6xT.zip AND Magisk-v24.1.zip on the phone's local storage) It wouldn't let me, with an error "signature verification failed error" with the Verification box checked, and even without that checked (aka: bypassing the signature check on the zip file), it had an error of "unable to find recovery image" and "error installing zip file" SO THE FILES FROM THE VID DIDN'T WORK FOR ME SO MY NEXT MOVE WAS to use different versions of TWRP: I ended up using these files, which are the next version up: dl.twrp.me/enchilada/twrp-installer-3.6.1_11-0-enchilada.zip.html dl.twrp.me/enchilada/twrp-3.6.1_11-0-enchilada.img.html Booted in fine, asked for PIN, decrypted the files, put the twrp-installer-3.6.1_11-0-enchilada.zip AND Magisk-v24.1.zip onto the phone, tried to INSTALL IMAGE with the "Zip Signature Verification" checked, but didn't work, so unchecked it AND IT WORKED. This worked for me, but I'm happy to answer any questions or help.

Got until 6:41 but had the weird names you mentioned, then I wiped but what to do next? I redid the last step to fastboot the img file, and it's the same problem, weird folder names again? How do you move on from that step @techibee, help will be much appreciated, thank you

@@alisayyed949 I had to use adb sideload to get a no encrypt file flashed. A reset after that fixed it. Google for no encrypt file twrp you'll get it.

Nothing you can do. You probably have oneplus 6t. All the videos similar to this, wont work on oneplus 6t. This guide is ONLY for oneplus 6. TWRP do not support oneplus 6t officialy. Dont use your time on twrp on OP6t. Instead, do sideload. It will work.

Not a paid comment but this works 100%. Only thing to be careful is the drivers. Install 2 drivers carefully, ADB and Fastboot, or else it wont work

Hi, Just installed LineageOS 19.1 on my OP6T and I notice that developer options looks different to before - for example, no OEM Unlocking show in menu. Have you looked at it yet? I no longer have root, I assume it's because of going from Android 11 to 12. Would like to install TWRP & Magisk again to gain root. Any ideas on how to go about this?

I did all the steps up through flashing the twrp img, it all was successful. After the img flash my 6t was frozen on the white screen that was written "Fastboot" in large letters with only the OP sign above it. Your video showed the 6t phone reboot to the TWRP screen, mine did not. I removed the usb cable and held the power button in for a long time eventually powered off then back on. What should I do now?

Throw it in the garbage. It's done. You messed it up. Just go and pray and ask the higher power for forgiveness because you can't follow instructions.

For custom roms is much easier. Sideload magisk zip in recovery or if u have twrp flash it in twrp
