I don't think what Rory says here holds any weight. We all know that Gareth's being linked with the job because he has the international experience behind him now. He's proved at that level that he's a very competent manager. By far our most successful manager since 1966. Gareth's a people person, and that's where his real qualities come to the table. If he can get in at United, and breed that 'feel good' factor (that's he so well known for), then we will start seeing the return of form from the top players. Gareth will gel that group and get them playing. United fans, this is what we need. Trust Ineos and trust that they know the man who will take us to the next level. I'm not convinced Gareth will be a long term manager, but the success he can get in the next two seasons could be vital to United. Gareth's a project manager. He comes in with his team, assesses the damage, and then works on gelling the group. So this would be a two season project (that would be my offer), with an option of extension (results/progress permitting).
