Yep week to week they change views on players. Maddison is a very good player but he is off form right now. England have many midfield options though so no major deal if he does not go to Euros. England's defence is going to cost them.

Maddison seems to go missing when things are tough. Newcastle signed Barnes from Leicester and were also linked with Maddison, and their fans were more upset about Barnes leaving than Maddison, which says a lot.

For you it was entertainment, now those days are over, the hate stems directly from fear, insecurity and jealousy. Social media in general can be the source of the blame and the anonymity protects you from any real consequences. Personally I'm just glad that I'm just about old enough to remember when football, banter and fair play were just the norm and when someone was good, you were comfortable saying so. Brazilian players peak early because they play 100 games before they are 18 to try to maximise profit on them when they are sold to Europe. Endrick, Vini jr, Neymar are prime examples.

He's just not a middle of the road footballer though. His goals and assists in all comps since he joined Leicester. 18/19 - 7g, 7a, 1 every 203 mins. 19/20 - 9g, 3a, 1 every 257 mins. 20/21 - 11g, 8a, 1 every 157 mins. 21/22 - 18g, 12a, 1 every 120 mins. 22/23 - 10g, 9a, 1 every 135 mins. 23/24 - 4g, 7a, 1 every 173 mins. So he's contributed a goal or an assist pretty much every 2 games for years now. Is he world class? No. He's not Kevin De Bruyne, but he's one of the best in the league and he's literally shown that this season already. Jumping on him after he's returned from surgery is just stupid.

Maddison was on fire at the start of the season, and then he got injured. He hasn't been the same since he came back,anyone who knows football would know that this happens. I think idiots like this judge football by results and goals they dont see the bigger picture. Cole palmer, for example, was doing nothing for the 1st few months, yet they think hes player of the season. Player of the season needs to be someone who's been consistent from the start.
