Then I remember her starting an affair with the same Dean while he was married in season 4 and 5. Then she got together with a new boyfriend Logan, in whom she cheated by kissing Jess in season 6. This kind of behavior isn't new to Rory.

I think because we all knew this was Logan "character". When Rori and him took a break, Rori found out that Logan slept with the entire bridesmaids. His womanizing is on par with his father Mitchum. And it's quite shameful on Rori for repeating her past mistake, this time sleeping with a man thats engaged.

If I remember correctly, ASP said that she had never watched season 7. So if we were to believe her, they don't even know what happened to the character back then.

It's weird.. in the series Rory was bringing out the "good side" of him like being less reckless and staying in a relationship with her but in AYITL (when they're older) she's bringing out the "bad side" of him like cheating on his fiancée and potentially ruining his reputation if their affair comes out eventually..

Yes I feel like they are just fooling themselves thinking that they can be casual lovers. They couldn't in the past, they can't now. In the revival you can tell they are still dealing with a lot of fear and insecurities from how they ended things before. I think they randomly met at an event and, since they never really got over each other, sparks flew instantly. I believe Rory came up with the Vegas agreement because she liked having him back in her life, but didn't feel like she could make any demands of him since she turned him down before. And I think Logan hates the agreement because Rory is not just some side piece to him, but he will go along with it if it means he can have her in his life again.

Sometimes people don't end up with someone who treats them well. I think writers captured real life but fans wanted escapism. Thats were the hate comes in. Fans wanted something else that the earlier series gave.

He made it clear that he wanted to spend his life with her. She passed. And yet somehow, wasn't able to actually let him go. Instead of this Vegas BS she should have been telling him how she really felt.

It's the way he says "We do" when she talks about the Vegas agreement.

@@wt042 you're very likely correct, but look where that leaves her... to watch the man she loves marry someone else because her pride won't let her be honest about her feelings/desires. She makes that choice every time they're together. Every phone call. Everyday they wake up not together. If that's what she chooses then Logan should absolutely move on with his life.

@5 there wasn't a reason not give them a happy ending. Besides Amy sherman has erased all the character development they did the last two seson of the original show just because she didn't get to write season 7.

To give a teaser of my story outline, someone will die and Rory will have to deal with those emotions. The Inn will introduce more colourful chars and Rory's Mother and grandmother team up as her grandmother finally lives the life that her mother did raising the new Gilmore. This story has more plot twists. ................So how would you like to see it written? Book or script?

Ciba Zyx she may be well educated but she sure doesn’t use it. I can give so many instances to back this statement, and this one of them. Engaged, although can be broken, is still commitment. Rory doesn’t care for anyone who isn’t her or Lorelai and use see this with her relationships. She’s not a good person. She was. But not anymore and this goes way beyond the affair, which already is disgusting enough.

I think Rory and Logan were out of touch for a very long time, until she went to London for some work and met up with him and it all started again. The idea of getting fully together wasn't even on the table, because they want different things: he wants to be this big shot guy, head of the company, with a decent wife from the DAR, and she wants to travel the world, look for interesting stories, make mistakes, get up, and just be herself (and not become a person in a suit dress having tea parties with other wives). That's why Logan continues being engaged, and Rory continues her ambiguous relationship with Paul. However, they start sleeping together, because, like Lorelai puts it, they "can't quit each other". She even called their bond toxic. I think it reminds Lorelai of her and Chris, two people with immense attraction but no future because it simply "doesn't fit". It has to fit, like Lorelai told Rory in the revival. I think that no matter how much you love Logan and the actor who plays him, you have to jump on the ASP wagon here and acknowledge that Rory and Logan don't really fit.

Imbra Kim how can you say Logan wants some decent wife from, the DAR. Logan wanted Rory to be his wife. Knowing how she was with her dreams and goals and ambition. And that’s what he wanted. This whole story line in a day in the life is just bad writing and to think Logan would allow Rory to disrespect herself like thus is ludicrous.

@@iamsultana I appreciate your viewpoint, immensely. I understand how devoted Gilmore Girls fans are to specific characters, but I can't deny that these arcs are so fluid for all these people. You pointed out some great arguments that aren't taking sides, but recognizing the flaws that eveyone in the show has to get past.
