I cover everything from how rosacea impacts the skin, to how to keep rosacea at bay. what do you recommend if you can't tolerate doxycycline? dealing with bad breakouts for about 2 yrs... tried numerous things thru derm. Even keflex to see if it was a gut bacteria.

A routine of washing my face with a gentle cleanser, using Azelaic Acid and a gentle moisturizer in the morning and night cream at night along with Doxycycline once a day have really helped with redness, breakouts and flare-ups. I still have the red blood vessels. Is it possible to get a laser treatment for those while controlling the other symptoms as I have been doing, or can the laser treatments cause a flare-up even while treating the other symptoms? Also, I know being on an antibiotic, like Doxycycline, for a long duration of time is not necessarily good. What happens when I need to take a break from the antibiotic? Do I just continue with the Azelaic Acid and hope and prey for the best? Thank you in advance for your guidance. 🥰

Yes! Azelaic acid is a great maintenance ingredient as there’s no cure for rosacea, and azelaic acid will reduce its progression

I have the same skin type as u.. but when I wanted to get ipl done it was said I only could get 10% reduced redness due to ski. Type 3. I got rosacea due to sun exposure, h pylori, gut issues and harsh skin care. I’ve been healing my gut since three yrs by removing gluten, eating probiotics, smaller meals all that kind of things to improve my inner health. Now I’m ready to heal the surface.. I bought skin products from khiels and I want to get a even tone on my face and remove the broken capillaries I’ve got. I used to wash my face with warm water and end with really cold (stupid things people told it was good for skin). Can you please tell me treatments? I remember getting a “thicker” skin by micro needling but other than that??

You need to see a Dermatologist! If you can’t access one start on sulfur soap, azelaic acid serum like Azelaic10 serum from AziMDSkincare. If you don’t treat it it gets worse

I did the VBeam 2 x’s. Was going to do a 3’rd round but developed what looked like a cold soar (Herpes Simplex 1) on my cheekbone. I was scared to continue. Plus, I was crazy swollen after for a week. Can one mix metrogel azeleic acid and retinoin in a day or is that too aggravating? I do this daily. Drinking alcohol and stress makes me flush horrendously. So frustrating.

As long as you space them out. Lasers can trigger cold sores so be sure you take a prophylactic antiviral before your lasers

Ipl (done by my dermatologists office) did nothing for my rosacea. I had 7-8 treatments, and the ipl nurse compared my before and after shots and said it did nothing. What laser is more effective than ipl for redness?

It's interesting how not all fair skin folks get rosacea. I'm half native american and white. I'm not fair but not dark. I have a medium neutral skin tone. I don't remember my parents, siblings, and grandparents having it. 🤷 My random redness doesn't bother me. It's the sensitivity of my skin I hate. Ugh.

I do have a handful of patients with dark skin and rosacea… it’s not common but possible! Sometimes people carry the gene but don’t express it and others do.

@@SkinByDrAzi Genes are complex for sure. For instance, I'm also diabetic. My parents, siblings, aunt's, uncle's, cousins don't BUT my maternal grandmother does. I'm so lucky. 🤣
