My hands have been like sandpaper most of my life. I remember digging out some dirt to make a small landing for a garden. And the rocks were so thick. I painted an old style mailbox with a folk art style landscape scene and my husband installed it just a couple of months ago in our secret garden. I keep my hand tools and tie up stuff in it. It saves so much time rather than walking all the way back to house if I discover I need my hand fork or the like. And it looks whimsical in the garden. Should have thought of it years ago.

Aaron, I have a food allergy to eggs. They have, occasionally, turned on me since I was in my 30s. I'm about to turn 60 next month and I cannot eat eggs, ever, without "paying the price". It also causes lots of pain now. I love eggs!!! There's nothing better than even having breakfast for supper but I can't do it! I'm sorry you are allergic to them. I guess, about twice a year, now, I get so hungry for them that I just prepare for it and really enjoy them when I eat them. I can eat stuff made with them, too. I just can't eat a couple of eggs and toast. So sad! I'm lamenting them with you now! I, literally, feel your pain! I do love these updates and I have loved your being involved in them. Thanks for stretching yourself and being a part of them. You are just as amazing as Laura is!!! You 2 are raising 2 beautiful children, too!!! I'm so thankful that you can be such a hands on Daddy! It's so important for kids to have their Daddy's! My Daddy has been gone for 35 years and he still blesses me every day! I was a mid-life baby (accident) and my mother was 40 and my Daddy was 49 when I showed up. He always took time to hang out with me. He is who gave me my love of gardening! I have so many memories of being in our yard and watching and helping him with the gardens. What you are doing makes a difference! You 2 bless me and all the GA family more than you can begin to imagine! THANK YOU!!!❤️🙂🦋

We were at a house with a driveway that you couldn't see the end of and they had a little but very visible sign that was cute that said "circle drive". So it let the person know that they would come back out if they just kept going . I think if you could do something similar right at the spot where people tend to turn around, it might solve the issue. Or if you don't have a circle drive "turnaround spot ahead" with a little arrow.

OMG Laura, you and Aaron are a wealth of garden knowledge in ways you may not realize. From the beginner teen-ager to some us "middle-aged" your enthusiasm and little quips of info are huge for us. Thank you for your "bantering" but mostly it's that you're complementing each others talents and Aaron has come a long way in offering his opinion on plants. This channel - you both - make my day get going (along with coffee) and inspires me to do more in my garden and in life : ) It's been so hot this summer in Oregon yet you continue to give us realistic "adventures in the garden." I didn't know about Bud Worm (a flower grub) until I got Webworm (a grass grub), your beautiful Spruce falling down in a storm (wire cage still in-tack from 30+ yrs ago), the list goes on. And now the Prairie Wedding Bridal Bokay plus the quick pics of Samantha & Benjamin takes me back in time with my own son during those ages (he's now 20 yo.) Every day is a wonderful adventure with your family/ gardening/ harvesting & events that reassures me life is so beautiful beyond my little place in this world. Thank you Laura & Aaron my day is better with you in it : D

I love the comment from Julie Norris about the excitement about the recognizing and naming plants. Absolutly the Same for me! I learned so much from you Guys. The funny Thing is, i live in Germany and i just know the english names and get so confused when i have to name something in german. Most of the times i have to Google translate the names from english to my motherlanguage😂

Thank you for mentioning that you do see us and read our comments. I used to ask questions here and there, and then ended up just stopping and searching google for the answers. I was thinking you was just to busy and was just being thankful that you was making videos to watch. And I watch them all, and I think I have ran through all of them at least twice now. I know creepy stalker type. Sorry. But yes when you mentioned about showing us "Where to cut" on plants would be nice. I would also like to know "When" to cut it. My climate is different from yours. I am in 9b here in rainy florida, so I cut when I think it should be and end up killing my plants, do to the heat and or the rains. So a little help with that would be sooooooooooo great. Keep doing you, we all love you and yours family.

Try watching Jenny from Gardening with Creekside on You Tube who hails from the south. Maybe they would be able to help you a little better than Laura simply because they garden with the very issues you face? I won’t stop watching GA, but have added a couple of other sources to look at now and then who aren’t in high desert. Mostly because I live in the northeast.

@@ztag1p Thanks I have a few I watch, but Laura is the best, even tho I horde all the rain over here in Florida. I cant stop watching her, she is just so great and amazing. I watch Jenny on occasion and a few others. But climates are all wrong so far. If I get what their info is. I can figure out how to change it to fit mine. And it works, I might kill five or six of them, but then I figure it out. Thanks for the reply.

I was actually shocked to hear you didn’t like the blooms on hostas, I didn’t think I was a fan of them either until I saw them in one of my deeply shaded areas. The light blue bell shaped blooms really shined, definitely brought some nice bright interest to the area. Ps, my sister and I are allergic to egg whites…. We still eat them but they make us achy. 😅

Two years ago we started getting aphids in the gardens for the first time. I did nothing about it because I really don't like using any type of sprays on anything. Last year was worse, but they were pretty much exclusively on weedy areas like our ditch, behind the shed etc. This year there were several types of aphids and they were now in the actual flowerbeds. I wasn't sure what to do about it, so again I just left it to see what nature would do. The reason I like to wait is because several years ago we had PLAGUE levels of grasshoppers show up on our property, eating everything. I mean walk across the lawn and it was sea of them moving before you. As a new gardener I was at a loss but after two years nature brought in a praying mantis army, literally hundreds of them and they wiped out all the grasshoppers. Now we have lots of mantids every year, a normal to slightly less than normal amount of grasshoppers, and no issues with them eating the plants. So getting back to the aphids this year, I waited again and then one day I went out and noticed strange bugs on the plants. I looked it up and they were ladybug larva, and they were EVERYWHERE. The adult ladybugs also did their job and plants that were completely covered in aphids were picked clean in a matter of days, and now the ladybugs are all throughout the property and I have yet to see another aphid anywhere. Now if only nature could come up with a solution for squash bugs :/
