Roseanne Roseanneadu

5 жыл бұрын

One-time "Roseanne" guest-stars Patrika Darbo and Stephen Lee slip into the roles of Roseanne Barr and Tom Arnold for a 1994 docudrama chronicling their tumultuous relationship.
TV movie biographies were all the rage that year, and this is the better of the two that were rushed into production following the implosion of the Arnold marriage (Fox's "Unauthorized Biography" was riddled with errors and verged on unwatchable -- though it inexplicably got a VHS release and further exposure on Lifetime).
In a truly bizarre move which was documented by The Washington Post and other media outlets, Roseanne announced plans to host the original NBC broadcast to provide personal commentary, but she changed her mind and backed out ten days before the film's Halloween night premiere.
I seem to recall that NBC reran the movie once in 1995, but it was never issued on home video and I've not seen it broadcast on American TV since -- which is a shame because Darbo is pretty good (although the accent fluctuates), Lee is truly phenomenal, and the story is relatively accurate to the various press stories... that Tom Arnold himself was reporting!
A full mpg of the movie can be found here: archive.org/details/RoseanneA...

All lies! My friend was on a show with Tom Arnold and he said Rosanne was the abusive one and Tom had to cater to her throughout the ordeal. She would go over Tom's sitcom set (the CBS series) and would be yelling at everyone about the show.

The only reason tom arnold got fame & that little movie career he had in the 90s is all due to Roseanne. The guy did tom perfectly. Patrika looks like roseanne a lot. Roseanne actually got so pretty when she got older. Tom always on the show was clearly looking like he coked up. The seating the nervous rocking & sweating. I loved when the media called him tom ono. I feel really bad for her first husband & father of her 3 kids ( which the show was based on. In rl she had 2 older girls & a boy. ) he humiliated her by Cheating with their 24 year old assistant kim. Roseanne also claims he stole 2 million dollars cash she had in the closet. Why was he pissed at the end when she was eating a cookie ? The receptionist is heather Dubrow from real housewives from OC. Such a good line " money & fame make a guy good looking & thin " def to young gold diggers.
