Great interview. Vulnerability is a sign of great leadership. To be vulnerable is to be willing to change, to fail, to learn, to be honest, and grow. It's not weak.

Wow! Never seen Roseanne that young (I was never really into sitcoms). But gee whiz I see an attractive, intelligent young lady there who appears wise beyond her years. Very interesting glimpse of someone who knows a lot more than she's able to say...I can see it in her eyes.
@lacemitchell98956 жыл бұрын
I look at her and I see a woman who’s been put through the ringer and back. Her mind runs in circles and she can’t pinpoint one problem. They snowball so when she tries to talk about what needs to be said for help of herself and others, it snowballs. People think she’s crazy and she knows that. She pretends to be sane and then she knows she is but she’s just misunderstood. She is an extremely woke human being but she is so deep and emotional that her experience of betrayal and being misunderstood has warped her. She is stronger than everyone gives her credit for and nobody will ever understand her. I pray for her now because I relate to her on such a personal level. I wish I could speak with her. We need to talk everyone who is like us need to talk.

Roseanne, I don't know if you read these comments or not (I wouldn't), but I just wanted to say that I'm really glad I've come across these interviews you've posted here; I probably would have never seen them since I was too young at the time to had known they had aired (so, thanks). When you were on The Green Room w/Paul Provenza, however, and was asked about the backlash you received for the "Hitler Photo Shoot", I could almost imagine your frustration of having to deal with the negativity of it all, despite probably knowing beforehand that you were going to have to go through all of that anyway (getting people to think outside of their comfort zone is your thing, I know). How people can't understand that a Jewish woman dressed as Hitler along with 'the rest of it' is something very empowering (a world in which you couldn't do that is a world in which Hitler won), and having to explain that and why is just... I get it. In terms of your comments on the Mona Lisa, what it offers at both face value, below the surface, and it's artistry being for a time beyond it's own, I think you're very much the same as your artistry/suffering is ahead of it's time as well. Hopefully in the future we won't need to explain the benefits of thinking for ourselves and how important humor is to help put that into proportion. Anyway, hope you're well, B.

I don’t know how true pioneers face the solitude of it all...so much respect for this woman. “They being...us.” Wise. Charlie thinks he’s so much smarter than he is, and Roseanne is so patient with everyone around her who doesn’t really, really get it. The last season bothered me at the time. It wasn’t comfortable. But I’m beginning to see what and why it had to be. I had the very same experience in Florence, learning about Michelangelo’s journey, his reluctance, his defiance, the power dynamics (the way that the powerful wished to possess the wild and creative but of course never quite can...) and seeing the Mona Lisa over the heads of hundreds of people from everywhere. Great experiences, but I’m especially glad I had them so that this interview could resonate a bit more than it might have...

He said Rosie battled drug addiction and won. This was a very old interview, like 25 years ago. I've seen her messed up on booze and vaping just in the last 5 years. Maybe if she was sober and clean, she may not of had all that trouble leaving her show with those horrible accusations lately.

I'm looking forward to the Roseanne reboot. My hope is that they can pick it up just prior to the lottery win, because that could be believably written off as a dream or stress event for Roseanne. The audience identification with her family imo, was that they were a family like MOST of the audience and, sorry, most of the audience does not win the lottery no matter how much they play it. They might hit a $5,000 ticket, but they've dumped in 5x that by the time it happens. People in Dan And Rosies Boomer agree group, are dealing with job displacement, age discrimination in the face of finding work at all, staring at impossibly high debt at a time they're supposed to be retiring adult kids who are only now getting in their feet after insurmountable college loan debts, many having had to move back home after college and getting independent in their 30's but with the frustration of knowing they won't have the "American dream" invented in the 50's, and following in the DIY example of Gen X, who are their aunts and uncles, the younger sibs of the Boomers, (and so small they didn't enjoy the fun of the Boomers and so small a Gen they were mostly off the radar of the mainstream they didn't trust anyway), and so the family the audience connected with in the recessionary late 80's and early 90's, are the audience contending with The Great Recession of the early aughts and 9/11 world. Given their ages, DJ or Darlene could have easily enlisted to survive, get out of Lanford and shipped to the Iraq war (please choose Darlene if you go that way, because the story of female warriors is so rarely told and male warriors are over - represented). Besides, DJ had the film director aspiration and he could have a KZfaq channel you could actually tie into the show. ;) Yeah, so anyway, I wish you continued success whatever you do.
