"ABC has pulled the plug on the revival “Roseanne.”
The move comes after series star and creator Roseanne Barr made a comment on Twitter Tuesday morning referring to former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett as looking like the offspring of the “Muslim Brotherhood & Planet of the Apes.” Jarrett, an African-American, was born in Iran to American parents.
“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said in a statement.
Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger voiced his support for the cancellation, tweeting, “There was only one thing to do here, and that was the right thing.”
Barr deleted her tweet about Jarrett not long after posting it. She followed it up with an apology that read, “I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste. I am now leaving Twitter.””*

To be fair, the original run was actually pretty down to earth and even poignant sometimes. They managed to capture the spirit of the blue-collar working class family. There’s an old saying that goes like this. “Don’t beat a dead horse?” What amazes me is that ABC beat a dead horse. Roseanne is a flawed individual, we all are. Her flaws just happen to be on display for the world to see. I love racists that don’t hide it. What I don’t like is a racist that tries to walk back what the say by apologizing when it is not genuine. One does not overcome racism instantly. Racism is inbreed, it is where one race thinks it is superior over another. That thought process often requires a life changing experience to flush it out. Hopefully this was Roseann’s. It’s easy to be racist, people fear what they don’t understand, so racism is just a convenient tool to be lazy and without thought or logic. Racism is to America is like peanut butter is to jelly. America needs someone to oppress and hate, it’s sinful human nature. We wouldn’t be who we are without racism. I don’t agree with the practice because it’s hurtful to the person it’s directed upon. America needs racism to continue to rob the poor and the sick. Racism is big business in America and it’s not going anywhere. Too much money in it.

I have NO LOVE for Roseanne. I was hit by a car when I was 7 and had a Traumatic Brain Injury that changed my personality (according to my mom I went from a "sweet kid to a kid who was angry all the time"...I'm bipolar...which of course went undiagnosed for YEARS). This is NOT an attempt to excuse Barr's behavior at all. I'm just putting this here...

From women's rights, to race to lgbt equality. We win on the facts, logic and empathy. Insulting some one on there appearance is no difference than what Roseanne done. Its easy to slip in to that mind set of anger and fire back. But doing so we lose people, there is alot of people in the middle who are ignorant, not in a bad way they just aren't aware of things. They generally believe misinformation. Just like the past we have to educated as many people as possible to show them the truth. Its the only way we move forward

The difference is that the government actually did get involved in making the NFL policy. The executive branch took an active role in pressuring the players to stand and the NFL caved to that pressure.
