Gotta say this Dana Rosenblatt was one of the most disciplined fighters I have ever seen. Pazienza in this match and their previous match was like a man possessed. Dana never seemed to notice. He effectively maneuvered fluidly almost like a striking snake and could stun you before you knew what happened. His composure and effectiveness make me wonder if Rosenblatt may have beein into meditation or the martial arts as well as intellectual pursuits when not fighting.I'm blown away by his performance tonight. I'm impressed on many levels. Hats off to both men.

such a nice post Mrs. Rosenblatt! j/k. He looks ok, but Pazienza was such a wild brawler that a more skilled boxer would have landed more shots against Vinny. But Dana was no slouch, solid fighter, just not quite at world class level.

Dana never seemed to notice? He got knocked out cold in round 4 in 1996 and would've got knocked out cold in round 3 in this fight if the knockdown happened 30 seconds earlier. He was a good pro, he didn't have nearly as good of a career as Vinny did.

@haroof For the record, Rosenblatt retired with a 37-1 record. He won four title belts and avenged his only loss. No one called him a stellar fighter but he did have a respectable career in the toughest sport there is IMHO. haroof, what brings to youtube to bash a rather obscure fighter from ten years ago?

But who did Pazienza fight? He fought Rosenblatt and LOST. Pazienza fought Haughen and LOST,Camacho and LOST, Jones and lLOST, as well as several others and LOST. Pazienza fought the shadow of Simms and Honeyghan, as well as the shadow of Duran's shadow and won. No one ever accepted that he beat the shadow of Duran....that contest was a give away to Pazienza.

he lost a disputed split decision in the rematch to Rosenblatt after ko'ing Rosenblatt in the first fight and dropping Rosenblatt and pushing the action the whole 2nd fight. he has 50 wins in 60 fights, including 2 wins in 3 fights over haugen, he beat arroyo only a year after arroyo lost his title, took the wba 154lb title from dele, who had a good career, honeyghan was former world champ and still commonwealth champ when paz ko'd him, and lots of other guys who fought for major world titles. you say "he lost to jones" like that's some kind of slight to him, when jones is a lock for the hall of fame with major titles in 4 divisions. the only way to avoid losing in boxing is to avoid tough fights. those guys you mention him losing to also lost. so what?

The TKO in the first Rosenblat fight was the result of illegal action in the first round. A cowardly punch whilst action had been called to a halt and Rosenblatt was walking unsuspectingly to his corner; Pazienza attacked him .Honeyghan had serious inner ear damage from a fight whereby his opponent hit him with a hammer;he was merely a shadow of his former self. Jones toyed with Pazienza and carried the contest until he made him roll on the canvass irrationally. Many dispute the result in the Haughen contest where Pazienza 'won'., as do many dispute the result in the contest of June 94 when he fought the shadow of Duran.

you asked who did paz beat. I told you and you just repeat the same script you were talking off before. this is the net. people can scroll up and don't need to keep reading the same thing over and over. Rosenblatt got kfto, period. that excuse just hurts any other arguments you try to make. rosenblat getting dropped by paz and squeeking by with questionable decision after getting ko'd the first time is by far rosenblat's best "win". paz beat haugen TWICE, so no matter how you feel about one of them, he has an undiputed win over 2 division titlist, and the other guys I mentioned

Ian Senior- Bingo: Paz was good fighter and that was it ! No more no less. A 43 year old Duran knocked Vinny on his ass imagine if the age difference was reversed a 32 year old Duran against a 43 year old Paz.

I guess we can really admire Pazienza as a hero for scoreing 2 knockouts in the same contest, both from behind.Neither Mr Orlando nor Rosenblatt even saw the attacks though!

@haroof I think you're quite misinformed. I've followed boxing my whole life (38 yrs) and I can say that Rosenblatt convincingly defeated Terry Norris and Glenwood Brown; two world champions and top ten fighters. In addition to that, he beat Arthur Allen, Chad Parker, Lloyd Bryan, James Crawford, Will McIntyre, and Frank Savannah (a former sparring partner of mine). Together, these six guys had a professional boxing record of 142 wins and only 8 losses (excluding their loss against Rosenblatt)

Pazienza's best "punch" landed in this fight was the left elbow to his opponent's face he landed at the end of round two. This was met of course by one of referee Mercante's many many warnings to Paz about fouling throughout the fight. No points taken of course. This is one of the things wrong with boxing today. Too many warnings about fouling without real repercussions. If I was a fighter and AND was a scumbag and wanted an unfair advantage over my opponent, I would make sure to land a few good elbows to the face EARLY in the fight so it takes its toll later on.

Pazienza is a dirty low, even subterranean contestant, who many times disrespects even the refs. He has no regard whatsoever for Mr Orlando, as is evidenced in Honyghan and Rosenblatt 1. The boxing fraternity at large allows his misconduct for economic reasons. But MR MERCANTE ensured a fair fight and a good decision in the contest above. He IS the big winner in this contest.

@haroof "Stellar?" No, he didn't have a stellar career. He wasn't an elite fighter, but he had a decent career. Who the fuck are you to judge what his career amounted to? Have you ever set foot in a ring? Pazienza had no class...and took plenty of beatings in his career. I especially enjoyed when he lost to Greg Haugen, Roy Jones and others.

@haroof If you match the professional records of Dana's opponents against Mike Tyson's, you'll find that Dana actually fought and beat more successful fighters than Tyson. (In my eyes, this actually doesn't say much because Tyson fought a lot of slugs). All I'm saying is that Rosenblatt was a damn good fighter, nothing more. Will he make the hall of fame? No. But he definitely made his mark.

Paz came from ahead to lose a close fight. Rosenblatt kept his cool, didn't get pushed into a brawl with Vinny's BS tactics, and made Paz miss way more than he landed. I consider Vinny one of the dirtiest fighters of the modern era, if not the worst.

Mr Mercante proved that Rosenblatt could beat Pazienza, by making both boxers obey the rules. Pazienza should have been disqualified in the first bout when he got up after being knocked down and attacked an unsuspecting Rosenblatt awaiting the Referee's command. This offence destroyed Rosenblatt's visual and mental focus causing him to be TKOed. Mr Orlando should never be allowed to supervise a contest with someone as brazen as Pazienza.
