I wish they’d actually show the first 2 incidents between Larson and Ross that led to this 3rd and final one causing the wreck. It helps paint the full story. Plus how is no one talking about Ross jumping that restart…?

the people in the booth caught it clearly being at very least debatable yet not even getting mentioned nascar potentially missed the call because they piled up on the restart after

It doesn't matter who was at fault. Everyone identifies that Chastain is a talent but he also has an unbridled and immature aggressive effort to win. They'll sort it out as everyone sees it for what it is. Rick Hendrick is right in saying that it's tough to win a championshion when you make so many enemies. Just make sure his belt's on tight!

@@vw8886Facts. I’ll give Larson that, he sure makes guys think when they line up next to him on the front row. Guys pick weird lines based off what he’s done, not realizing he’s just going to out drive them 7 out of 10 times regardless of lane choice. Everyone says Ross is in everyone’s head. I think Larson just being the “talent darling” gets in everyone’s heads more.

Ross has a car capable of winning each and every weekend. He also has the talent of winning each weekend. He just needs to get over the attitude of trying to win the race before the end of the race. He needs to learn to be more patient. He'll start winning when he thinks a little more.

Ross needs to remember 2 things: His engines come from ECR, which Rick Hendrick co-owns, and you can't win races when the other 35 drivers on the track have a score to settle with you. We know Gragson is going to dump him at an opportune time and now Larson and Truex both have a beef with him. He's too aggressive to be smart, apparently.

Ross Chastain is leaving his competitors no option but to wreck him in these situations so that he can't come back and pull this sort of BS on you. He just proved that you can't race him the same way he races you or he'll escalate the conflict. You can't confront him on pit road or he'll punch you in face... The only safe option going forward is to put his car on the hook going for the win before he has a chance to do it to you!!

He's using the 'sim racing move' to keep his fan boys making excuses. Wrecking the fastest car, yet again too aggressive, too impatient. All he had to do was leave a car width. Like EVERYONE ELSE DID with TWO to go. Ridiculous. Fox having all these vanilla guys afraid to call him out is ridiculous

Chastain said it himself " i wanted to squeeze him but i didn't want to spin myself". He intentionally wrecks people. Thats not ok. NASCAR needs to step in and suspended him for a few races to show him thats not how you race. If you cant race clean then you dont race. Everytime he gets away with it he is emboldened to do it again and again. I am no longer a Chastain fan. Hes shown his colors and they are ugly.

Ross has the talent and the car to be a Champion, but at this point, he does not have the maturity or intelligence to do so. And the other drivers may not let him grow.

Ross doesn't have the talent to be a champion either, imo. In 7 years in Cup, he has only 2 wins, 36 Top Tens, and has never sat on the pole. He's never finished higher than 7th in the Xfinity points and has only 6 wins over 300+ starts in Trucks and Xfinity. The guy is 30, long past the point where he should learning things like racecraft. He's the modern equivalent to Michael Waltrip at DEI, a midfield driver in top tier equipment.

The reality is that it was just hard racing. Chastain could have one that race if he would have focused on driving and winning rather than pining Larson up into the marbles. I know all the young fans loved it but it ruined what was sure to be an awesome finish.

I bet you don't remember past the 79 Daytona 500. Do you remember what happened the next race they were both in, Rockingham? In case you don't, within the first 10 laps, the first time they got close together, Cale took Donnie out and it took out several more in the process. That put an end to it.

Larson raced Nemecheck hard and clean. Never touched him. Nemecheck tried to get into Larson which he did but both cars continued undamaged... Good hard racing!

Big difference between the two, Larson and JHN were racing for the win and weren’t trying to wreck one or the other. It did end up in contact but it was a product of hard racing, and JHN said it himself. Larson and Chastain was a product of Chastain trying to wall Larson instead of trying to win the race, wrecking both of them.

It seems like it's the popular thing to blame Ross for everything but that stage when he was being conservative and not pushing the issue causing a crash. If he had pushed and wrecked they would have been complaining. He laid back and Truex squeezed him into the wall which he bounced off and Truex ended up the loser. Later Ross was on the inside and ended up being the loser. Larson probably could have got a better finish if he let up and let Ross car slide to the bottom after contact. Larson could have kept going like Ross did earlier.

chaStain has 2 wins in 174 starts in 7 years in the Cup series. If he was so talented he’d have several more wins. Minimum 10. Clint Bowyer has 10 wins in 15 seasons. The rate chaStain is going he won’t even be in the same conversation as Bowyer. 🙄
