🔻 More info 🔻 under titles🔻
♥ They were made from the end of 1894 to 1907, by Father Adolphe Fouéré, known as Father Fouré.
For 14 years, from the end of 1894 to 1907, he sculpted more than 300 statues on this remarkable set of granite rocks overlooking the sea.
Abbot Fouré's inspiration is varied:
- The Transvaal War with Colonel de Villebois-Mareuil.
- The abbot also sculpts Breton saints like Saint Budoc.
- The famous man from Rothéneuf, Jacques Cartier, who discovered Canada.
