I bought a Hyper Cell Fused based on this review. Tamer absolutely nails this review. It is spot on. You can feel the "lumbering core" (as Tamer puts it) and then the ball goes into a heavy roll through the pins. Perfect description Tamer. Keep up the great work!

Big differences between 15lb and 14lb specs. Great to see multiple testers on your reviews and it looks like a few using 14lb so my question, any real differences in performance between the weights. 15 pound = RG of 2.52, diff of .056, MB of .018 14 pound = RG of 2.57, diff of .046, MB of .015 Final note, happy to support your Patreon like I do for Luke. Thanks to all you do

Thanks so much Matthew! Differences in performance? No not at all. A conversation for a patreon exclusive coming up about this exact topic but I worried about this a lot initially. Had many discussions with manufacturers about it. It is something to be cognizant of but fundamentally, balls are designed to roll the way the manufacturer intends based on design.

TamerBowling If you already had the Lock, would you get the Hyper Cell Fused or just adjust the surface on the Lock ?

TamerBowling Awesome. I just have it in my head that with such different specs, there must be big differences but I will try my best to look at the ball and not the specs. As you boys bowl 14lb in your reviews, that will be easier too ;)

Really good question. If your Lock has lots of games, I think the Fused is worth picking up. If it's still in good condition, you can probably hold off. The shape is a bit different but not enough probably to put next to each other.
@TamerBowling

We have a mix but I almost exclusively test 14. Shape of the core is more important. Initially I thought the seemingly large RG would make a big difference but it didn't.

Ok... I’ve bowled pretty good (for me) the last couple weeks at league. Changed my hand position to a bit more up the back and that’s helping improve my consistency. Allowing my equipment (Hustle INK, Track MX10, Code Black) to roll more... maybe earlier is a better term. My swing is still not there, but I’m working on it and will (hopefully) soon be seeing a coach. That being said, my team wants to bowl in the State (Michigan) Tournament and I have no heavy oil balls. I just bought this one used and will have it early next week. Very excited about it as I am a lower rev player and like the carry I get from bigger cores. I’m to the point now where I’m willing to experiment with surface. If I hit take this to 3000 unpolished, do you think it will handle a heavier pattern? I’m still getting into a solid (oil) ball (looking at the Track Alias and Ebonite Verdict, currently), but the more usable ball is the Fused. Thoughts?

Looking for something to go between my track Alias and an older dynothane ball I only throw at dry conditions or spares. Right now the in between is an older storm paradigm domination im gonna get rid of. I think need something polished that I can throw and get down the lane before it checks when it’s dry but also forgiving and can hit the pocket and drive through in any condition. Thinking about this or a hammer ripd pearl. Looking for suggestions.

Tamer, first of all. Love the vids ! Asking for a friend. For a low rev bowler who usually throws at house pattern, should she buy this ball, the black widow gold or the dare devil danger ? Keep up the good work !
@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 6 жыл бұрын
If it's first ball out of the bag and she needs "help" from the ball, the Fused will definitely provide that. The Gold is a great ball as well but the Fused is harder off the dry which will probably provide more entry angle and ultimately may help increase carry for that type of bowler. If the speed is too slow, it could also be too much so hard to say for certainty without seeing the bowler and the specific condition, even if it's house shot.
@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 6 жыл бұрын
It really depends on several factors. If one can build an arsenal then you can have different options. If Fused is too much but you still need pop, Danger would be an option. If Fused is too much but you need smoother downlane, Marvel Pearl or No Rules Pearl. If the lanes are just breaking down, Dare Devil or All-Out Show Off. If it's really torched or really low speed, then you start looking at the Hustle line.

Hey Tamer, I currently use the Roto Grip Hysteria and looking to get more punch and pin action. Do you think this would be a wise upgrade or do you think something else might be better option?
@TamerBowling

Kendall Carlsen the Fused is strong and punchy. The Soniq would be a good option as well. not as strong overall as the Fused but a bit more snappy.

Hey Tamer, which current ball do you see as a good replacement to the Critical Theory?
@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 6 жыл бұрын
The remake of the Critical from last year would be the closest but that's discontinued. You could potentially find that. You could go with the Fused and just put surface on it and it might be close.

Hi tamer, what is Shawn’s layout? What layout would you recommend a two handed with high rev would I benefit from pin up or pin down? Thanks in advance
@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 6 жыл бұрын
Azfar Kamalruddin Sean was using a pin up 5” pin. Pin up gives you a bit of a longer shape with more snap. Pin down will be a rounder shape and may require moving a bit further in. It depends on the bowler and shape you need. It’s a pretty small difference but when I like a particular ball shape and core and I feel it will match up to a slower transition, I go pin down. For example marvel pearl, hyroad.

Tammer in your review of the intense i asked you what rolled better , the widow gold or intense. Well what do you say with the hyper cell ? The original hyper cell did not work well for me . But i loved the mutant cell pearl.
@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 6 жыл бұрын
Darcy Wood the Fused is closer to the mutant cell pearl than the hyper cell in the sense that it’s got that clean look and good punch down lane of a shiny ball. But it will be right in between because it will also be earlier rolling than the mutant cell pearl giving more midlane control.

Both being hybrids (but with different coverstocks and surfaces), how does this compare to the Track Alias?
@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 5 жыл бұрын
Ken Collins out of box, the fused is more of a strong but clean motion. Polish gets it downlane more than the Alias. But the Alias still created tons of backend with surface. But once fused has surface it becomes a strong piece that really controls the breakpoint amazingly well.

TamerBowling I bought a barely used Hyper Cell Fused for under $90 shipped. Used it all night this past week at bowling (THS) and love how it rolls! Maybe I will take it to 3000 grit and see how heavy it can handle.

Ken Collins the fused can handle tons of oil with surface. It will change it’s downlane shape since it’s reading earlier.

Love your videos! Question, I am thinking about adding the match up black pearl and the hyper cell fused to my arsenal. I am a medium rev stroker who prefers up the lane motion from about the 2nd arrow. How would you suggest I drill each ball to get maximum effect for a standard house shot? Thanks.
@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 6 жыл бұрын
Doug Hampton I wouldn’t stress about layouts. Use what has been successful for you. You can modify the reaction with surface. I would stick with around 4.5” pin to pap distances.

Whats the difference between a shiny nib hybrid vs a non-shiny nib hybrid. For example: Shiny- Code Red Non Shiny- Drive
@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 6 жыл бұрын
Matt Muldowney comparing 2 different balls shiny vs dull is apples to oranges somewhat. Generally polish will add length before the ball begins its hook phase. That allows it to store more energy for downlane. Dull surface will make the ball hook earlier. Depending on the condition, a dull ball may hook more or less than a shiny ball.

Getting back into bowling finally because I got a better job than what I did have and I finally have time again, I'm looking for a ball with really good value but also something I can take to league and tournaments and see maximum success, I've come down to this and the motiv venom cobra, I'm a tweener who doesn't get a lot of hand on the ball and a medium-high ball speed about 16-18 mph on average, which do you think would fit me better?
@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 6 жыл бұрын
Fused if you want to open up the lanes more and have more defined motion and drive. Venom Cobra might be more playable more times but it's the "safe" ball between these two, not necessarily the one to see the bigger scores.

If you had to choose, Hyper Cell Fused Vs Code Red?
@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 6 жыл бұрын
Depends on what you are looking for. Need a smooth rolling ball, Code Red. Need more aggressive overall motion and more defined punch downlane, Fused, no question.
@maximusm5393
@maximusm5393 6 жыл бұрын
Mary Ann Fleras I have both, and for me, The Fused is Hyper aggressive, but still smooth and controllable, and can recover from anywhere. I use my Code Red as a transition ball for when the shot breaks down, usually end of 2nd game, bought it off a teammate who didn't like it, it was not aggressive enough in my heavy oil league with my speed. Code Red is weaker of the two for me, so could be better fit depending on what you want, the Fused allows you to open up the lane more, and is very aggressive.

@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 6 жыл бұрын
77Musicnut there are so many options. Really depends on what you bowl on and what you have in terms of motion from the Fused. You could supplement with a solid asym like the code x. You could add a solid sym like the idol. A step down could be either the code red or no rules pearl. Further step down would be wreckem or hustle ink. All different but slotting in there.

How does it compare to Columbia lit and marvel pearl
@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 6 жыл бұрын
Don't have a comparison to the Lit and haven't seen it thrown so can't say. This is completely different reaction from the Marvel Pearl. Pearl is smooth and for medium conditions plus or minus. Fused is much sharper and aggressive and can handle more volume.
@TamerBowling
@TamerBowling 6 жыл бұрын
Fused is definitely not a step down to a Trick. Yes it definitely has more pop downlane, but it is way overpowering compared to the Trick. Soniq just from the specs would be the best bet from the ones you are asking about. Marvel Pearl is a stronger pearl cover which is very smooth. Soniq will store more energy with more pop. We haven't tested it yet so can't say with absolute certainty but that's what it should be.

Ducksauce it’s really an old standard bowling term describing a bowler’s style. So it’s stroker, tweener, and cranker. Traditionally it kind of describes how aggressive the bowler was and rev rate from least aggressive to most, in the order.
