There i was, just having some lunch under the Narrows Bridge in Perth, Western Australia when i had a ripper of a client call me in distress. He had a blocked channel drain and it was starting to smell really bad. As you'll see from the video, this drain was blocked. So blocked it looked like the drain had never been cleaned out before. Sit back and watch a satisfying video, a drain cleaning video.
This blocked drain was recorded in East Fremantle, Western Australia.

Thanks for including the beautiful scenery in your videos. Now that channel drain was nasty. But you took care of it like the expert you are. It was very satisfying seeing all that filth fall into the drain and disappear, at times helped along by your trusty half plunger. Back in 1973, a few weeks before I turned 19, I took a summer job in a bakery that made hamburger and hotdog rolls. On my third day of employment there, I was told to clean a large square catch basin drain out on the "back dock" where all of the barrels of waste dough and deformed rolls were kept while waiting for the garbage truck and the "pig man" to come. There was a huge metal grate over the shallow catch basin. At the bottom was a 4-inch cast iron house trap that the water ran into. It was nearly covered with a collection of stuff that looked very much what you cleaned out of the channel drain. The stuff in the dock's drain was a mixture of dirt from the floor, plastic bags, rotten dough, and rotten waterlogged rolls. It really stunk! I think the owner was seeing how much I would take before I quit. Maybe I should have, but I worked there for over 6 years until I found another job. Your video of that disgusting channel drain brought back memories.

Bruce, you get so lucky that you don't have to deal with the harsh winters. We do those crates rust like nobody's business and are a hell of a job to get out.

A question to you Bruce. If you wouldn't be filming and letting us to see the satisfying clean up of the channel drain, would you have shoveled the muck into a bucket mixed with water, opened the lid of the grease trap and poured the grease dirt straight in to the grease trap? It might be easier but not so satisfying to us.. But what do I know, I have no idea how many ways you have to do the same job.. that's why the question 😙

Love your videos ! You need to cut a gallon milk jug like a scoop (Cap still on) instead of using a masonry trowel. Scoop dump, scoop, dump and the thinness of the plastic of a jug makes it flexible enough to bend into the shape of the channel. And it already has a handle. Have a good Day ! You are a legend !

Perth looks so clean compared to English cities. Many of our cities have a rubbish problem, they try their best to deal with it but when you have 20,000 people all throwing litter everywhere, it's hard to keep it all under control. My nearest city is Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and it's a great city, sadly though people don't know how to throw rubbish away. The 2 things that annoy me most is chewing/bubbles gum, people spit it out everywhere and its a nightmare if you stand in fresh gum and then cigarette butts. I am an ex-smoker, now I vape but even when I did smoke, I always through the butt away. I hate gum and smoking waste.

Watching you do that channel, I use a long draining spade. You can simply push it along any curved bottom channel, which almost all are.

Bruce, mate, you need to make you a tool for cleaning those channel drains. Then you can start it on one end of the drain and scrap the whole thing.

Hiya. Could you of troweled it up. Then put it into the fat trap and then cleaned the fat trap. That must surely been a better option than wasting all the time you spend jet washing it down the pipe. It ends up the same either way 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Channel drain treated like a garbage can. Saw that fresh cigarette butt and bet there were more rotting away in there. You need to get a rounded end brick trowel to scrape the ugly out of that kind of greasy drain Bruce.

That it goes in the grease-trap and then the grease-trap is being emptied. (Around the 4 minute mark he talks about it). It would have been a bad job if he didn’t obey the rules and put it in the trash. Next time please first watch a whole video to see if it gets explained. And next time please, if you can, react in English so I don’t have to spend 5 minutes to translate what you are saying. What if I type the reactions to you in my language? Dat vind je vast ook niet erg prettig. Maar toch: een hele fijn dag/nacht of wat dan ook toegewenst 😊

Bruce Bruce I understand what you're saying about "controlled waste" and that you can't just put it in a bag and put it in the bin. But why don't you scrape that stuff up and put it in a bucket and dump it straight into the grease trap itself. Instead of trying to flush it down the drain which causes it to block up. Wouldn't that make more common sense then blocking up the ground drain trying to force that garbage through it?
