Many people asking for translation, thus posting in the main thread. This is inspired from an Ode to Lord Shiva, considered the God of the Gods and The Destroyer according to Hindu Mythology. The language is Sanskrit. I was blow when I saw RC did a song in Sanskrit, and it sounds sick. I have compiled the parts used in the song along with English Translation for anyone who is curious: Starts with 'Gayatri Mantra' followed by the 'Strota' (Ode). Devadevam jagannatham devesam vrushabhadwajam, Namami sirasa devam, kim no mrutyu karishyathi. The Lord, Who is the God of gods, Who is the lord of the earth, And who has the bull flag. What can death do to the one, Who salutes with his head to the god. Anatham avyayam santham akshamala dharam haram, Who is limitless, Who cannot be explained, Who is peaceful, Who is the killer, And who wears the garland of ruraxs (literally translates to furious eyes. Aaandham, paramam nithyam, kaivalya pada dhayinam, Who is happiness, Who is beyond thought, Who is stable, And who grants salvation. Swargapavarga datharam srushti sthithyanthakarinam, Who grant heaven and salvation, Who looks after creation, upkeep and destruction. This keeps repeating, with some other names of Shiva thrown in along with 'Namah/Namami' which means 'I bow to thee'.

I am 100% European. My Pagan brothers might disagree with me for this or call me ludicrous, but I worship both our ancestor's god, Odin and Lord Shiva. Hindu people may call me ludicrous for such, but these are my gods. I bow to my god, Lord Shiva. Namah, Lord Shiva. I bow to you, Wodin.

Small pronounciation tip: The consonants with a dot beneath or above are pronounced "retroflex", meaning with a curled back tongue. It's what makes all Indian accents so instantly recognisable.one exception is the n with the dots. With the dot below it is pronounced retroflex, when above velar, so like an n in English before a k/c or g. The other is the m with the dot. In ancient times it marked that the preceeding vowel was nasalised, ie spoken "through" the nose, but this is not done anymore generally.

What's pagan exactly and how is it related to Hinduism?
@gorahindu31962 жыл бұрын
@@naraendrareddy273 in early definitions, paganism meant any religion that didn't come from abraham. Therefore, Hinduism is the largest pagan religion and also the oldest religion still being practiced.
@johantitulaer10522 жыл бұрын
@@naraendrareddy273 Paganism also means belief in multiple gods. For example Christianity, Judaism, Islam is all one God. Paganism is one of the earliest kinds of religion humans have been practicing. Usually belief in gods of nature or god of the sky, god of death etcetera. Almost all paganism religions involve human and child sacrifice, so it's usually not a very nice thing.
@realhbk316 Жыл бұрын
@@johantitulaer1052 Pagan religions are ancient...times when death rates were much higher than today. Moreover, those religions like Hinduism consider death to be an integral part of life. NICE is just a matter of perspective.

this song is absolutely insane! A greek black metal band singing about hindu mythology in Sanskrit! If that's not secularism through globalization I don't know what is.
