That is one sick motorcycle. I have a '23 701 Enduro with a Yosh can, modded stock airbox with a 70% snorkelectomy / Twin Air filter, Rottweiler's O2 dongle and PC6 with their map on it. The difference in power, particularly off the very bottom and through the midrange, is awesome. It revs out hard on top of course, but what I really enjoy is how it no longer feels soft off idle and at lower RPM when trail riding in tighter stuff, and how it doesn't lug at the bottom of 6th gear anymore on the street. Just turn the throttle and it churns the tire and accelerates hard like a massive high tech thumper should - braap city! It has power everywhere, Rottweiler clearly knows how to tune the 690 engine. I generally ride reasonably open stuff as I live out west and actually geared it up to 16/45 as it runs with so much more authority. This makes for a sweet gear to gear pull on the pavement and relaxed and nearly vibrationless freeway cruising at 70-75. The abundant power handles the taller gearing well when off road on the 4x4 routes and moderately technical stuff I ride. I have a 300 XC for the truly gnarly stuff... As for suspension, dropping stiffer .65 springs in the forks made a nice difference as they come unbalanced with .72 in the rear and .59 in front, I suppose for the rear mounted fuel tank, passengers and all the crap people strap onto them. This makes the bike feel properly stiff in back and soft/low in the front or "stinkbuggy". I just dual sport day trail ride mine in CO, it is good enough for my not racing in Baja purposes with just the stiffer fork springs in it. The shock is quite good for my spirited but not crazy trail riding. And ya, it will do single track, but it really comes alive when things open up. Going 90 down dirt roads is a perfectly reasonable proposition on a 690 😂

Very Nice. The Ti bolts are beautiful!! I've got the 250 F, 300 6 days, 500 EXC and a 1290. Looks like this will fit that gap! AWESOME!

I love the LC4. I've owned a lot of bikes but I always come back to the LC4. I wish the 690 seat height and comfort was the same as the old 640 but that is my only gripe. If I can only have one bike, it's a 690.

Definitely gonna spend some money with y’all when I order my 690 and great advice
So a 314 pound bike with 85 BHP sweet! I am surprised they didn't make titanium axles and swing arm pivot tube though. Simple to do.

Sick build. I’d love to see a build on a do anything bike. The ultimate Swiss Army knife. Build a bike that can dual sport, trail, and do a play day on an max track. Something you can ride from your house to the track and have a good time. Or leave the house, ride overnight and hit the trails for some light camping. Wr450, exc, or 450L, beta or whatever. The most versatile bike possible.

500EXC
@UPSHIFT_ONLINE4 жыл бұрын
Going to have to agree the 500EXC-F or the FE501 are your horses of choice. Ad a set of Mosko Moto Reckless 40 and a few core mods and you are off.
@hagestad2 жыл бұрын
Thats a lot of impressive bling on that bike. Yet if you don't change clutch slave cylinder gasket +mod the clutch itself you might not finish one race. By swapping all the bolts at least fuel tank wont fall off - nice design KTM. Also stock pump = not finished baja race

Any less dramatic suspension upgrade proposal?
@UPSHIFT_ONLINE10 ай бұрын
The suspension he installed on that bike is next level. It would actually take a bit of work just to find most of what is going in there. You can simply get the suspension you have re-valved and sprung for for you. This is highly recommended and pretty standard stuff. Carl’s Cycle in Boise has some great settings and a lot of experience with the 690.

36 pounds or 46 pounds? You said 360 to 314 wet?
@burddog07924 ай бұрын
There is no way they shaved 36 pounds off that thing. They probably forgot to weigh it with fuel.

Did you semplify the Electric system? Because i didn't see all the anterior wires and I'd like to semplify and remove some wire for extraspace

No, the wiring harness is complete. Just modified for certain things.

It turns out the Rottie airboxes on 890's........... they flow so well the 890 can suck dirt right thru the filter. Quite a few bikes have ruined intake valves due to dirt ingress. There have been questions of cracked airboxes, and leakage at joint of airbox and airboot. Aftermarket isnt always the answer.
@UPSHIFT_ONLINE Жыл бұрын
We have not heard about that or experienced that so not much we can say.

Holy crap that bike is still a pig. I've built/owned several XRR's and a 690 enduro. The XRR beats the 690 hands down in most areas: lighter, handles better, torquier, more reliable. I found the 690 to be very heavy, VERY stiff unforgiving chassis, and limited in steering lock. I could ride the XRR's in single track terrain where I would never dream of taking a 690. I wish Honda would have kept the XRR but lightened it and put an e-start on it with FI.
