Today I show you how to install Rough Country 1.5-inch front lift coil springs for 1980 thru 1996 ford F-150's. The process should be about the same for any twin I-beam or TTB ford front suspension and is a really quick and easy upgrade to perform using basic hand tools in your driveway. Keep in mind you will need an alignment after installing the new springs, so this is a good time to replace any worn steering components while you are here.

Thanks man! I've done a lot of work but never put front springs on. I'll be doing my 89 F-150 tonight. Loved the use of a sock foot to hold the shock absorber in place. You're keeping it real!

Nice video, I used it to do the same to mine. For me, the bends on the bottom of springs are larger than originals and the factory retainer washers aren't large enough to hold the springs. reviewing your video it looks the same (7:00 mark). does this pose any issue?

I have a question if you buy a taller springs would it lift it in the frunt like a 4in spring?
@LambchopsChopShop

Yes. Taller springs will lift it more. However, the taller you go, the more the camber will need to be corrected.

@LambchopsChopShop

Rough Country sells a 2.5 inch lift kit for $399. That includes rear lift components as well. You might be able to call Rough Country and get just the front springs. I know the rake on my truck was enough that I could have lifted the front 2.5 inches and it wouldn't have looked wierd.

I think you should still be good with 2 inches. If I had to guess, I think anything after 3 inches is where you start getting close to the limits of your stock brake lines. If in doubt contact the manufacturer of your lift. 👍👍
