I have this knife (and quite a few other Rough Ryders), and this is one of my favorites. The fact that it only has one blade was a big selling point for me, as well as its high carbon blade. Fit and finish are great. I couldn't wait to let the blade patina with everyday use, so I stuck it in a raw Russet potato for a few hours and it picked up some really nice blue colors and interesting patterns.

I bought that one specifically because it was a single blade instead of the double blade they usually come with. I agree about it being a Rams foot. Mine came fine with no issues. For a hawkbill, they are good for not only pruning, but they can be used in trimming electrical cables. The curve helps it follow the cable during cutting. They also work well like a hook or claw would in cutting carpet.

The Half Hawk Knife works great for a First Aid Kit, the Blunt tip allows you to cut clothing with out causing further Injury. I wanted a single Blade Half Hawk but chose the R.R. Moon Glow Half Hawk for my Family's First Aid Kit. Just liked the idea of a Glowing Knife in my Kit, the Pen blade would also be handy. The blunt tip of the R.R. Half Hawk Knife makes it a Perfect First Aid Kit Knife.

I'm just starting my RR collection. I'm really impressed with the carbon series.

Just ordered this knife. I have two other Rough Rider half hawks, and they're great. Neither one has any gaps, or play, and both have a strong smooth action. I have about 80 Rough Riders, and my half hawks are top quality, along with the full-size moose knives.

Got this for painting Cuts plastic paper wood and food well I recommend this knife

Very nice example of a rams foot knife pattern. Mine has no gaps and the blade is centered perfectly. Grind is near perfect. Fit and finish on the one that I have is excellent. The carbon steel will be easy to keep an edge on. Carries well in the pocket of my jeans. Good value from SMKW.

I know it's an old video TK but thank you for it! I have to rethink my whole pocket knife enjoyment! I cannot possibly justify $300 for a pocket knife! Which on some Channel seems to be the new 40$. Well anyway so much for the rant! I like this line of knives I have a couple in this line! Enjoyed your video thank you TK! I carve some of my carvings with these Rough Riders and the T10 or whatever it's called Steel! Does just fine!

Wow. The blade is really well centered on yours. I have one and the blade has scratches from rubbing against the liner. This thing is a very handy utility knife at work however, so I'm willing to overlook it, as it's just a tool to be beat on.

I do like the look of the CCll series! Yeah...a bit of a gap. More than I like to see as well but I wouldnt be be too mad about it for $15ish! Thanks TK!

I just purchased this knife and the RR1954 blue smooth bone stockman. Both knives are in great condition which I was pleasantly surprised. The only flaw on my 2213 is the tang doesn’t meet the spring just like I noticed yours is the same. Other than that it’s a great knife and extremely sharp. Check out the blue bone stockman if you haven’t already. It’s very nice

I personally aquired one as a alternative carry option to my Sodbuster/SB Jr and Mercator K55K. I like it a fair bit and use it mostly as a heavy duty utility knife.

I picked up one from SMWK and the blade was bent and touching the Liner, big gap on one side of the bolster with a crooked lockup. Returned it and got another one sent out. The blade still touches the liner, but the other problems are better. However this one has a really light pull and a mushy back spring, no snap when it opens, this is after a good cleaning. Not impressed with the ones I got at all. Hoping the other stainless models I ordered will be better.

I like that single blade. Very nice. I’m hoping there’s one of these in the new cinnamon bone series - no big R. I have one hawkbill knife, and that’s plenty. But I could use several of these. I’d like to see a one with a narrower blade - a sheep or lamb’s foot, I guess. Thanks!

One knife I was going to get and didn't. After saying I wouldn't buy anymore knives I just might treat myself come Christmas, not got a Ramsfoot knife and these look as good as any, especially for the money. I have messaged Heinnie Haynes got a reply saying they are looking at carrying more Shrade so fingers crossed.

I'd swear this is more like what you got in the past if you got a hawkbill, at least smaller ones and these big honking hawkbills are more of a modern thing on folders, lots on fixed blades (carpet and linolium knives).??? This is a nice knife TK.

I have and like the Coal Miner half hawk.

A decent knife. I have one with no gapping issues, but the blade centering is off. I like the handle shape, but overall, the knife is not one of my favorites. I prefer bone handles to Micarta, and the blue accent liners are rather non-traditional. I guess SMKW can't please everyone.

I have a lot of rough riders and I've only had a couple where the brass there's a gap in the back and it's kind of aggravating

how does the factory made RR hawk compare to a single person made one by Michael May of Sheffield England , they seem to be in the same price range

I bought this whole series and the fit and finish isn't quite as good as other RRs. One I got had a boo wow in the blade. The surface wasn't flat and even. But I returned it and got another and it was fine.
