Review of the Rough Ryder Classic Carbon II Large Stockman Pocket Knife. Mode # RR2214. This knife features T10 carbon blades with mirror finish, match-strike pulls and swedge design. Includes Black Micarta handles, nickel-silver bolsters, blue underliner, brass liners, pewter shield, stainless springs and pins. Measures 4.25" Closed. Three blade design that includes a clip point, spey, and rams foot.

Spotting is not a problem but rather the character of the steel for me.

Nice stockman, love the classic carbon yellow I got, being nicely patinaed and with its action broken in to how I like it. These are definitely using knives. 👍

This is a good stockman. A little more modern looking than the first Carbon series.

I love the Classic Carbon II series. I have the canoe. Very well done! This is exceptional! So many RRs I want to get! I don’t mind the RT cause it won’t affect the cutting. ⚔️ 🤪

Thanks for this review , and the humor! I have the Canoe from this series. In that case, it’s a crazy perfect sample; zero gaps, zero blade rap or blade rub, no spotting on the blades. I have been wondering if I got a very lucky one, or if I could bet other Classic Carbon II series knives might be that great.

@@ThriftyKaniffy well, unfortunately I had to return in. The spey rubbed the frame and the clip had major oxidation issues, the point was badly rusted. Probably not oiled properly. Oh well. Not the end of the world 😄

@@ThriftyKaniffy Cold Steel, Civivi, Condor and Boker usually. Love the brands that have a large variety of "high-end budget". Probably why I like Rough Ryder, Mora and Opinel so much. They really give you a lot for the price you pay.

That Robert Townsend does make some pretty knives. Imagine a brand like RR making those knives! Oh well i like the stockman pattern and i don't mind a little weight, hence my Sunfishes as edc. I don't have the classic carbon II yet but they do seem nice. Thank you TK and Merry Christmas.

Nice knife, but I like weather resistant blades with weather resistant handles, and traditional handle materials with carbon blades. I definitely see why people like this model though, it's very handsome

LOL, Rough Rider's were lead by Teddy Roosevelt hence the "TR" on the bolster but I'm sure you knew that.😊

The R is just for Rough Ryder, but because the way designed it some patterns look like they have an RT. Anyway, I'm glad they don't use it anymore.

Rough Ryder have a lifetime warrantee. I would see about getting a replacement. Call SMKW and speak with them.

Idk why everyone is so against big knives. Maybe it's because I'm a Texan. I think the Uncle Henry folding hunter is the right size for me.

...."Rams foot", the tip end is bigger than the tang end. If it was a "Lambs Foot" the tip end would be smaller than the tang end. If it was a "Sheeps foot" both ends would be the same size.

Rectal thermometer 🤣☠ rough ryder knives are great sometimes you need to finish them yourself but most of the time nice for the price but I agree the RT ( I know it's an underscore) needs to go it just doesn't look good and is sometimes not well cut into the bolster so why save time on the machine work and eliminate it

It's actually the top of a "T" with the bottom of the "T" being above the R. They really didn't think out the "TR" logo very well.
