I met my Alabamian husband in Germany, and he’s had never heard of Croatia until then. As he made me watch Bama football and the revered coach Saban, I made his jaw drop by informing him that Saban had Croatian roots. Fast forward a couple of years and I gave birth to our son in Croatia, while he was deployed. Upon his return, he looks at me wide eyed and says: “up until a few years ago, I didn’t even know Croatia existed. And now, all my favorite people are from Croatia.” He meant, me, our son, and course…Saban. 🤣

Croatian people are very good looking….not just celebrities but most people on the streets, beautiful skin and eyes.

I would suggest Paul Modrich. He has Croatian roots from his paternal side. He is known for his research on DNA mismatch repair, for which he got the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2015. Edit: US Marine Major Louis Cukela, born in Split, is also worth mentioning. He is one of 19 two-time recipients of the Medal of Honor.

Just so you know Mark Viduka also lives in Croatia and runs his coffee shop in Zagreb. No one bothers him and he no longer has to talk to anyone about football :)
