How dangerous is it to lift with "POOR FORM"? Should we do it anyway? Let's try to understand the role of maintaining a rigid back when we are lifting!

I think the rounded back sets a bad example for the vast majority of lifters, most ppl dont have a coach or compete in dl, so they might watch themselves and see a rounded back and think its ok. Any movement done wrong over period of time can be dangerous but since you can pull so much weight relative to other exercises it becomes more dangerous

Hi Chris, thanks for your comment. People respond differently to deviations in technique. I don't want to go the extreme by instilling fear in our lifters' minds that "once you round your back, it will be a catastrophe!" The risk of injury will always be there even on a flawlessly performed lift because it's not a single variable algebra. However, we believe and enforce that good form, which is mechanically efficient and performed consistently, will yield higher performance benefits. -Marvin
