It's so fascinating how similiar my "doing nothing" is to yours. People don't get it. But unless I'm REALLY depressed, k-dramas make me feel hopeful, inspired and more optimistic, not to mention being mentally relaxed. It took me some time and pain to overcome, to understand that for me, procrastination is like a sign that I should slow down. And it took me even more time to accept that it is okay sometimes to "do nothing" and not to feel remorse about it.

Is it possible to feel stressed, overworked and overwhelmed while doing the bare minimum? Because I feel like that's where I am rn 😂

Same! I feel like a lot has to do with thinking patterns - once we get into the mental 'habit' of being stressed and overwhelmed (for whatever reason) we remain like this in any circumstance. And also, constant emotional stress and worrying that you're doing too little (which I often do) only further depletes our energy. I guess learning to notice these states and consciously slowly pulling yourself out of them is a skill like any other. :3

Of course it is. Most of the times when this happens to me is because I haven't let my mind rest and because I'm thinking about a hundred million things all the time, and stressing myself... . And when this happens, and I start questioning this same thing, I have to remember that using to much mental energy can make me even more tired than going to the gym, or doing a lot of chores and using physical energy in general. I try to remember to rest body and mind or else I feel tired all the time even when I'm doing nothing. . But all of this can become really challenging if you have some sort of mental illness, such as depression or anxiety; and if this is your case you really shouldn't force yourself or expect to have a "normal" amount of energy, because those can be reeeeeeeeally draining, and also in that case, the best thing you can do for yourself is searching a treatment

I heard some great advice about chores/errands. Alternate between something physical and mental and take breaks inbetween. Example - start with dishes then sit down to pay bills then clean the bathroom then sort paperwork etc. I find music makes all the difference too, especially with dishes. The task seems daunting then I realize I only listened to three songs and wish I had more dishes so I could listen longer! lol And another thing - get in the habit of washing your dishes right away. (or putting them in the dishwasher) The more they stack up, the less you wanna do them and less you wanna cook.

I'm going to be honest, I haven't been productive, my skincare routine has been a mess, and I have been closing myself off. But after watching this, I was motivated to get up and actually get things done. So I made a cup of joe and splurged out my past week in my journal. And found out, I was definitely not giving myself the selfcare I needed. Thank You so much for the reminders or just the glimpse of the daily struggles in your life. I have someone on the internet who I can fall into, knowing that life isn't perfect but you can make it the best. Once again thank you, and I hope your week goes well.

Rowena, what the hell. Like how are you so influential? That sounds like a backhanded question. But your videos have been so helpful for me, and I am someone who has chosen to stay stagnant and comfortable because change is so scary. You've helped me mentally change my thought patterns more than most personal development books. I don't know how I found you on KZfaq but I am so glad that there is someone I can listen to regularly to have different expansions in my mind.

At the end of the video, when you quoted your Dad, it really touched me and made me cry a bit. You have to be my favorite youtuber because you're so easy to listen to, such good vibes, and such a relatable, personable role model. You're seriously inspiring. That quote is so strong for me because I often feel like I have to try too hard sometimes, I feel the need to have all these "things", bad habits/facets to my identity and/or interesting things to say in conversations, I'm always overly conscious of what new people might be thinking of me rather than living authentically in my space without an ulterior motive (getting the satisfaction of people liking me, gaining approval, attention/recognition, etc). I think that, doing the things that balance me, taking care of myself and spending quality time with myself really makes me truly happy, makes me feel joy in being with myself. I am proud of myself when I write. I'm proud of myself when I do my laundry, and dishes, and can come home from work to a clean bed and neat kitchen. I like having healthy delicious food that I made. It's all part of actively loving yourself. I've been wanting to make KZfaq videos for so long, along with working out, journaling, and staying on top of school - and Rowena - you have honestly reignited a part of my internal motivation and desire to make more of my time, my life. We just get this chance, we get right now, we aren't promised tomorrow, and I can't imagine living a life in vain. Videos like these help remind me how strong someone can become through discipline and self-love and self-respect. Thanks for sharing.

I love watching your videos and then reading some of the comments and seeing how much you're helping other people. I feel it too. Burnout has been a companion for some time, but I am working on it. Sometimes it's just a multi-armed beast that needs much more maintenance than I ever thought possible, but I have my morning routine, I am trying out some different skin products, and I am working on approaching my dreams rather than just doing work for other people. You're definitely inspiring to me - thanks for doing what you do!

Thank you Rowena, your videos always calm me down. This morning I called for help in the middle of a panic attack and instead of just sending a doctor like I expected the man at the emergency call center thought it was better to be safe than sorry and sent me an ambulance. I spent a few hours in hospital and now I feel guilty because I missed work and in my opinion wasted a lot of people's time. It also means I lost 8 hours from my pay check, and as a student who only works weekends that's a lot. I feel anxious, and angry, and ashamed, so I'm watching your videos and trying to change my mindset so what happened today won't happen again. Sending you lots of love!

First of all, thank you for this video. ❤ Really appreciate all the efforts you take to film and edit your videos. the way you film from different angles is really creative and also requires lots of hard work. I am so glad that I found your channel a month back. your calm vibes really help when I keep worrying about things. thank you so much again and again. looking forward to more videos. good luck. xoxo

How is this funny, and entertaining and useful/helpful/educational at the same time, AND you're using your own burnout to document yourself getting out of a burnout to help us?? You're amazing ❤️

I love love love your videos. My work life has taken over my life life and I’ve been trying to reset. Doing your journaling exercises and taking pauses with you has really helped. Also never feel bad about less videos, I just love when I see a new vid from you in my feed but it doesn’t matter the schedule! You rock.

Hey Rowena, I'm a hardcore fangirl from Germany and I love your Videos. It may sound cheesy, but your videos inspire me so much and I can relate to you in so many ways. I'm almost done with university and I feel like you made me think about life in general and what I want to achieve and if I am happy with what i'm doing and how to take care of my inner- and outer-self. (I even started a youtube-channel on my own, although this whole youtube-world seems really scary) I just want to say thank you so much for creating such valuable and amazing content. You are a light in this world. Please keep shining. : )
